Be careful with this restaurant. This was the second time happened. I picked the amount of each item first to give them then when I got it, there was less of what I picked.

Can you believe it? They actually placed the printed receipt **right** in the bowl with the raw ingredients! It's absolutely outrageous. It's one thing to be careless, but putting a potentially contaminated piece of paper where the food is? That's completely unacceptable. It really makes you question the overall hygiene of the kitchen. How can anyone feel confident eating here after witnessing that? This goes beyond just poor service; it's a blatant disregard for the health and safety of customers. Honestly, it's the kind of thing that would make any customer reconsider returning.

Disappointing Experience
I had high expectations given the ambiance and price point, but unfortunately, the food was not up to par. Despite the pleasant atmosphere, the dishes lacked flavor and were definitely overpriced for the quality. It’s hard to justify the cost when the food simply isn’t enjoyable. I won’t be recommending this restaurant, and I certainly won’t be returning.

I love this place! It tastes just like the authentic Chinese instant hotpot (Ma La Tang). You choose whatever food you want and the flavor of soup you like, then they will cook (boil) for you. It’s less time consuming than a hot pot meal and convenient for an easy individual lunch/dinner.
Parking: It’s street parking on Hillsborough st so it can be difficult during the rush hours and on the weekend.

Maybe a tad expensive but really fun and good
Was a good experience, she was informative as she could be without speaking much English. Only issue was it looked like was about to give us some sink water. We said wait a min a bottle please. I would suggest making the broth a lot more flavorful That makes the dish otherwise it’s pointless. It has Plenty of options to make your bowl. Overall pretty decent for an Asian place.

Overall: 7.9/10
A delightful hotspot known for its engaging food selection process and joyful atmosphere, highlighted by adorable panda decorations. The venue is fairly clean, with some outdoor seating available. The pricing is reasonable, making it an appealing choice for food enthusiasts looking to customize their meals.
Atmosphere: 7.5/10
While the decor focuses less on luxury and more on the sheer pleasure of eating, the charming panda theme adds a unique touch that enhances the casual and friendly environment.
Service: 8.0/10
The service is notably helpful, with staff members who are eager to explain the ordering process and the ingredients involved, contributing to a welcoming and informative dining experience.
Soup: 8.9/10
Exceptional in both taste and concept, the soup stands out due to the ability to personalize ingredients according to preference, paid by weight. The broth is delicious, and the freedom to choose and experiment with different components makes each visit uniquely satisfying. Fresh, high-quality ingredients ensure the final product is consistently impressive.

This was my first time at a noodle bar.
When you come in, you grab a tray and select the meats, vegetables, and noodles you want in your bowl. The selection is weighed and taken to be prepared once you select the type of broth you want. It's served in a large bowl with chopsticks ( forks are available). Select a seat and get busy. There are scallions and other toppings you can add yourself. A variety of can and bottled beverages are available . We had a Chinese brand canned iced tea, which was great( in a red can). It wasn't busy on this day, so seat selection wasn't a problem. This location is right across from a college, so it draws a younger crowd.
Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetables available.

Definitely a spot to stop by! Get as much or as little as you want. It goes by the weight of your bowl. We had fun and it taste amazing. We love how they have so many choices to put into our bowl.
Also the level of spice is perfect. Again pick what you want.

Cool concept with high enough quality ingredients and reasonable enough pricing (pay by weight). A personal hot pot is a great idea, and this place does it well. The customization is great - not only can each person pick their broth, but also all meats, noodles, veggies, etc. They do have some things we didn't recognize, which were frustratingly not labeled, but I tried a couple nonetheless (all were ok). Overall, food came out great.
Downside: on the day we went, they were out of several broth options.

I absolutely love this place and it has quickly become one of my comfort restaurants in Raleigh. The staff are very helpful and will explain to me the different ingredients and broths to choose from for my hot pot. It’s a good place to stop by and have lunch or dinner if you’re on Hillsborough street.
