After placing an order, immediately all the chairs were placed upside down ontop of all the tables, and i couldnt sit to eat anywhere - rosa park would be ashamed. I was given a to-go bag with no fork. I had to buy a fork at walmart and eat it in the rain. Not friendly to Jehovah Witnesses in this neighborhood. I'm 43 and this was the first time experiencing this at a simple food establishment. I worked at Cisco and had members on my team from India, Bagdad, Jordan, Egypt, just to name a few. Understand that their are immigrants and persons from many faiths that are all adjusting to american life.

The food was absolutely delicious, with authentic flavors and spices that reminded me of my travels to the Caribbean. The curry chicken was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor, while the rice and peas were a delightful accompaniment. The plantains were caramelized to perfection, adding a sweet contrast to the savory dishes. I will definitely be coming back for more!

Nestled in the heart of a busy grocery store, Golden Crust Caribbean Restaurant combines the charm of a mom-and-pop shop with the flavors of the Caribbean. When you step inside, you're greeted with the delicious scents of spices and herbs, leading you to a menu full of mouthwatering dishes.Their oxtails and jerk chicken are a must-try, perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice. The curry chicken is bursting with deep, rich flavors that transport you to Jamaica with every bite. Don't forget about the sides - the mac and cheese is creamy and cheesy, while the Callaloo greens and cabbage add a fresh contrast to the savory meats. But the real surprise is the carrot cake, stealing the show with its perfect balance of sweet and spice. The service matches the food's quality, with friendly staff going above and beyond to make you feel like family. The tall dude hooked it up with some extra gravy, the two sisters with the awesome smiles gave my God mother some bonus wings that wouldn't fill an oder. While my favor the girl with the cornrow braids was on top of serving, mopping, and answering my questions with a smile. The owners' pride in their recipes shines through, making every visit to Golden Crust Caribbean Restaurant feel like a special experience.

Excellent food! Golden Krust has always been a staple up north in New York and New Jersey for some of the Best oxtails and peas and rice and Jamaican patties. This place is great, clean, friendly, and accommodating. Every time we go they never disappoint! Happy I found them!!! I’ve had their jerk chicken, curry shrimp, oxtails sooo good! I have tasted all their rice selections peas & rice, spinach rice, and yellow rice amazing! I literally get all 6 patties and freeze them so I can take them to work for lunch! Their pricing is also reasonable, large oxtails dinner about $22, small curry shrimp dinner $16 ???UPDATE April 2024Went back 2 weeks later because my daughter wanted oxtails since I raved about it. UGH ? the curry shrimp was overcooked and hurt my stomach, the cabbage and sweet plantains was dry and been sitting out all day. Had to THROW OUT the whole meal. The only thing edible was the peas and rice because it was fresh. My daughter got the oxtails, smh ??‍♀️ that was super duper tough, so not cooked softly. We have to blame $80 down the drain because of the cook. We won’t be going back!!!

The WORST! I'm not even going to sugar coat this, me and my boyfriend got plates on 4/20/24 this plate was $19 we both got the oxtails....or should we say oxTAIL because they only gave us 3 silver dollar sized ones and a whole bunch of rice....for that price and quantity they can go to hell?

I love eating here, but it’s a “treat yourself” kind of place. I usually go for the oxtail, which is pretty pricey but very delicious. One thing I noticed is that the serving of free plantains with the lunch is inconsistent. One day I had a good amount of them but the last time I went, the lady only gave me one. Didn’t want to be disrespectful because they’re free with the purchase, just thought it was weird.
