Goodberry's Frozen Custard

One of my favorite ice cream options in the Triangle.

Very good ice cream. Vanilla ice cream if very yummy, especially with toppings in it. Melts very fast so you have to eat it quickly. Pricey.

Il preface this by saying we love Goodberry's and enjoy an occasional sweet treat there on a warm summer evening. However, our last 2 visits, specifically last Saturday on Leesville Road and tonight on Strickland Road were a little odd. Goodberrys advertises at both location that 1. We always have...No Sugar Added Vanilla (Leesville) and 2. Daily Flavors...No Sugar Added Vanilla and Chocolate. We always used to stop by any store on any night and grazie a pint or quarto of NSA Vanilla. Both times, I ordered a quart and the staff went to grab it and returned saying they were out. Both times I asked them to go ahead and just pack us a new one since they have the flavor daily. Both times I was advised they were out (6pm at Leesville and 8pm at Strickland) and it was not close to closing time. Both times I was asked if I wanted another flavor.

I think that the NSA Vanilla is a great option for people who can't have or don't eat sugar products. Thats the reason we get it, and it's amazing. We simply don't get anything else because of our needs, and they've always had it. I was told to call in the mornings when they make it and that they'd pack one for me, a nice gesture, but I'd just prefer that they have it in stock if they claim its always available or is a daily flavor on their signage. My plan to make a no sugar affogato has been on delay since Saturday, so I'm hoping that they'll get the NSA Vanilla machine humming again.

Went to the Strickland location and when it was our turn to order the cashier walked away and said he only takes one order at a time and I asked him why is there 7 people working doing nothing but standing around, he said he is taking next in li e and we were next in line and refused to take our order. If I could give them less than one , I would

Hot mess tonight. Ordered 4 cups. Got 1 made correctly quickly. Got a second that was wrong. Asked for the corrected order. They gave me a third order and it was also wrong. Got the second order corrected several minutes later. Then the corrected third cup finally came. Then they didn’t make my 4th cup and I had to just ask for that one again. And it was only mixed halfway so the second half of the cup was just a bunch of vanilla ice cream. Finally got back to the table to eat mine (the corrected second cup) and it had taken so long it was soup.

The best. Have the snicker sundae!!

S'mores flavor and manager special combo was amazing!

My dog, Griffyn, absolutely loves going to the Goodberry’s. He is a huge fan of the vanilla pup cup and the manager there always remembers our orders and is so sweet to my dog. We definitely prefer this Goodberry’s over any of the other locations because we feel so welcome there!

Asked for a strawberry cheesecake sundae on Aug 29 at approximately 8:00pm and got straight vanilla ice cream.

Overall 3.3/10 - An underwhelming visit highlighted by neglected outdoor amenities and a disappointing beverage.

Atmosphere 3.2/10: While the building itself maintains some charm, the outdoor dining area suffers from poor maintenance. Rusted benches and a non-functional fountain paired with a notable yellow jacket problem made it uncomfortable.

Root Beer Float 3.5/10: The root beer float fell short of expectations, tasting off enough to believe a homemade version would be superior.
