DO NOT order their Lavender Chiffon Layer cake for $12!!!!! . If you do you will get a very SMALL slice of dried out cake. I suggest the chef head to Hayes Barton Eatery and see what $12 can buy you for dessert - no comparison

I had a very disappointing experience with Hummingbird. They mistakenly charged my credit card for someone else’s bill, and despite multiple attempts to get a refund, they have been rude and slow to resolve the issue.

The server brought 2 separate bills to our table and was handed 2 separate cards but charged both bills on mine. I didn't catch this till later and I reached out to a manager. After their 'said investigation' the manager called and offered 2 options: 1. I reach out to the person I dined with and have them Venmo me or 2. The restaurant can refund the amount that was wrongfully billed on my card but I have to provide the name and number of the person I dined with so the manager can collect the $60.

It's unacceptable to hold onto a customer's money due to their own mistake. It's audacious to inconvenience me when your employee made the mistake and to give me a lecture about how "disappointed you are that I won't help you resolve this"!

The manager seems more concerned with holding onto $60 than maintaining good customer service. If I were to involve legal action, the restaurant would likely incur far greater costs. Businesses absorb losses every day, yet instead of acknowledging and apologizing for their employee’s mistake, the manager placed the burden on me to rectify the situation. The lack of accountability and expectation that I should go out of my way to assist them—when they have done nothing to correct their own error—is both disappointing and unprofessional.

Good customer service means fixing errors quickly, but that hasn’t been my experience here. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values honesty and accountability.

If this is not resolved by the end of today, I will pursue legal action, which will cost them far more than the amount they are so desperately holding onto.

I went during brunch time, which was decently busy. The food was fantastic, as were the drinks. Unfortunately, after we were seated, it took a solid 10-15 minutes to get water, let alone get a drink order in. By the time we put our drink orders in, we decided we might as well put in our entree orders, as we weren't sure the next time a server would be around. It's important to note here that all of the employees were extremely courteous and helpful; it didn't seem we were intentionally neglected. There might just be a fundamental flaw in their table scheduling map or w/e system they have established. Either way, I highly suggest this place for their quality of food and drink, as well a s staff professionalism. But I would not suggest it if you have a limited time for a meal, ie. A work lunch break

Came here for dinner last night and we had a decent experience, but the restaurant is super tiny (which is why it can be nearly impossible to make a weekend reservation)—only 12-15 people can sit inside the restaurant (plus the 8-10 bar seats). They have a decent sized outdoor area though.

The cocktails were great (ordered the Hummingbird Fizz & the Rational Thought). Food was underwhelming as a whole. I liked my burger, but was disappointed it didn’t come with any vegetables besides pickles. Also odd that it didn’t come with fries (rather potato chips). If you want fries as a side it’s an extra $8. My friends got the Bolognese & Peacemaker Po’boy and said both dishes were way too salty. The appetizer we ordered (Viet-Cajun Spring Rolls) were delicious though!

It’s a decent restaurant but do not think the food was worth the prices. No complaints about service or cleanliness, but think it’s a little overhyped as a whole.

Worst dining experience ever. Had to flag down a server to have our order taken after waiting 30 minutes after being sat. Never had anyone check on us for refills. When food came out, 3 plates were missing, and 10 minutes later a server said they were out of an entree we ordered. Waited an hour for food for them to tell us some items we ordered were not available. Still never received a few side dishes and the missing entree came out well after everyone was done eating. When we got the check, there were 3 items on there that were not ordered by our table. This was our 2nd time eating here but we will not be returning. 1st experience was mediocre and this 2nd time was unacceptable.

We recently visited Hummingbird for brunch and, unfortunately, left underwhelmed. While the menu looked promising and we were excited to try it, the experience didn’t live up to our expectations.

Service was one of the main issues. It took quite a while for someone to take our order after we were seated. Our server was very kind and accommodating, but it seemed like she was handling too many tables, resulting in long gaps between her visits. For instance, after finishing our first round of cocktails, we were never offered another, which was disappointing.

As for the food, it was a mixed bag. The charbroiled oysters we started with were enjoyable and well-prepared, but the main courses were a letdown. I ordered the croque madame, and it was nearly inedible. The sauce was lumpy with raw flour chunks, lacked any seasoning, and tasted like watery paste. The sandwich itself had charred and burnt bread, overcooked cheese that was dry rather than melty, and an undercooked egg on top with translucent whites. My husband’s steak and eggs was better by comparison but still nothing exceptional. Additionally, we were disappointed that they didn’t offer any decaf coffee options, which felt like a surprising omission for a brunch spot.

While the staff’s kindness and the oysters were bright spots, the overall experience fell short of what we had hoped for, especially at $100+ for two people. Sadly, we don’t see ourselves returning.

Really good food and drinks for brunch! The person providing us the menu wasn’t sure about of vegetarian/vegan options. The next person was able to provide us the options and take our order. Food did arrive a little late cause the place was packed! Recommend reservations!

The service is always good and most items are delicious, but their avocado toast has zero flavor. It used to be my favorite thing but since they’ve changed it in the last year or so, it’s incredibly bland.
