We waited 25 minutes to get a table, which is fine. But then sat at our table for 20 minutes, and then were told that a server would be with us. At that point we left, so we cannot rate the food properly.

Initially, I was utterly oblivious to the fact that this establishment functioned as a restaurant nestled within the confines of a museum. From my vantage point at the counter, I erroneously assumed it solely catered to the sale of beverages, particularly an array of coffees and juices. The presence of bottles behind the counter led me to ponder the availability of alcoholic offerings; however, I was largely convinced—about 80% certain—that beer was off the menu due to the conspicuous absence of a tap handle.
As I patiently awaited my double espresso, my attention was drawn to a nearby table where a patron was perusing the food menu and placing an order. To my surprise, I noticed staff members clearing away plates, prompting a sudden epiphany: this was not merely a purveyor of drinks but rather a full-fledged dining establishment. My curiosity piqued, I found myself intrigued by the culinary choices of the young, attractive clientele gathered around me. Yet, most seemed content to engage in animated conversation rather than place orders, likely celebrating the occasion of a date.

We just popped in for a coffee and take away sandwich. The sandwich was nice and fresh and the coffee was fantastic!

We’ve eaten here for years and I guess I never wrote up a review. Food and service has consistently been great. This times was no exception. It’s a great restaurant to share a meal at especially before or after walking around the museum. Sometimes it gets especially crowded so I’d suggest reservations for peak times/days. I think we tried to get a reservation for this lunch and they weren’t taking reservations- we didn’t have a problem snagging a table.

Iris is better than the modernist ala cart corporate cafe. Lets hope for some of the old post-modern deconstructionist post-consumer meals of yore. ?

Very good exhibitions, with a lot to see.
Best Cesar salad ever at the Sip Coffee Cafe next to the Iris.
Really pass on this place. Could be much better quality, temp of food, cleanliness of dining room, much less the dismissive attitude of the staff. Bring your own food and drink!!!
Very nice museum, dont come near closing time though or the guards will be on your butt from 20 minutes before closing till you leave.
So beautiful place and delicious
