Jose and Sons Bar and Kitchen

Had out of state friends in town for the day & we met in the middle and found Jose & Sons. The plantain sandwich was really delicious. Place had good vibe. Their chips were actually outstanding - not like they came from a bag. Our friends enjoyed it so much they told the staff that if they lived in town they would eat here weekly.

Food servings are amazing. Flavor just as good. Got take out but the staff we encountered was super friendly

9:15 Hostess looks at me and apologizes that the kitchen is closed. I cannot rate the food … Recommended- update the time to close at 9pm- Everyone’s time is valuable.

The BEST! This is my go to because I’ve never had a bad experience. The food is phenomenal- the flautas de pollo are my favorite. The drinks are tasty with a variety of options ranging from beer, to crafty cocktails, to sugary frozen margaritas. The decor is eclectic and cool to look at. I think this place gets overlooked because of the location, but I cannot recommend it enough!!

I finally found my Mexican restaurant in raleigh. I was struggling to find a good one for a while. But finally did. The food was amazing, and so was the server.

First time I went I did not like it I think had to do with service from waitress that day and food was okay. But thank god I gave another chance it’s been 5times now I’ve have been and it’s been SO good and authentic flavors good service. As a Mexican I approve this restaurant to be legit! We’ve been ordering birria quesadilla, nachos, burrito, enchiladas, tacos and this last time I’ve order shrimp a la diabla! Ommm they were soooo flaming hot! Hahah and fresh and legit I think I’ve only have had them back in Puerto Vallarta or Veracruz beaches in México! That’s how good it was! Definitely come here

I can’t figure out how this place has 4 stars. We tried the steak fajitas, carnitas, chicken quesadilla and Birria quesadillas.
The corn tortillas are not homemade and are subpar. The carnitas are dry and lack flavor.
The fajitas were bland. Bland bland. Like. As if they’re boiled in water. No color. No flavor. The pan was not sizzling when it came out either.
The shredded chicken quesadilla tasted like they reheated the chicken in the microwave. So gross.
The birria quesadilla was good. Dry but good.
The beans ?. The rice was tasty. The cheese dip was tasty. The horchata was okay.
I don’t know who is eating here and tastes any flavor in this food but. This place is not it.

The service was great, the atmosphere good, but the cocktails and food not so much.
I ordered tacos (they were okay, I think it was carne assada, nothing special) and replaced the rice and beens with fries. The worst fries I ate in a restaurant so far.
Guacamole and Flautas were good.
Overall, didn’t worth it.

I visited in Aug 2024 on a whim and I'm so glad I did! Our waitress was super down to earth and friendly, our food was delicious, and we had an overall wonderful experience.

Birria quesadilla = best I ever had. Highly recommend.

I live about 2 hours from here, so visiting frequently isn't an option, but I will definitely be back!
