Service is always great. The place never has AC in the summer and is very hot. My last visit unfortunately, one of our three roles was rancid. The server simply wished me better luck next time I come visit.

Awesome place to eat. Had the Bento Box which came with all different types of fish, tempora and a roll. Staff was on top of things and always ready to assist! Love this place!

Worth the wait! My dad and I frequented this place, and now that he’s no longer with us, I treat myself to dinner here every couple of weeks. Never disappoints. Consistent, flavorful and fairly priced. Cooked dishes have been delicious and well prepared, as well as the raw sushi bar. Everyone is welcoming and helpful.

Best sushi I have found in Raleigh. We usually just do the 3 for 30 or 5 for 50 to go. It is a smaller place but they do have some outdoor seating as well.

They have excellent quality fish however my two suggestions are related to the service and environment.

I ordered toro and when I got to the restaurant they said they switched it to bluefin tuna which is less expensive. If you are going to switch it for less expensive fish at least refund me the difference or offer more of somthing to make up for it. The customer shouldn’t lose out because the restaurant doesn’t have somthing on their menu. They did give me two extra pieces of salmon when I requested them.

Please close the doors and turn on the AC at least in the hottest part of the summer. There were employees inside sweating and a lot of customers as well.

I’ve been here three times now and I’m never disappointed. The food is amazing and the staff makes your experience even better. Tom was our server and he was so attentive and has such a positive attitude! 10/10 would recommend

Stop by for a quick and local sushi lunch and was happy to stumble upon this spot. The service was fast and courteous. The food was fresh and the value for the meal was awesome. I chose the sushi combo special and it came with a roll soup plus salad for only $16! Will definitely be returning for dinner and to try the hibachi!

We had such a disappointing experience tonight. We walked in (didn’t realize we could make reservations) and waited about 30 minutes. As a family of four, we had requested either a Hugh or low top table. We ended up getting seated at the Sushi bar which is not somewhere you seat a family. We didn’t have any utensils, we had to ask. First time we got Togo items from another server. Second time we had to ask was after our food came. We tried to get a different table but the hostess wouldn’t do it. Our server was very nice and you can tell she felt bad, but she should could have provided better service. We were never once asked if we wanted something to drink. The food was good but our discomfort was not worth going out for. I would have rather eaten at home

I frequent this restaurant quite often. I normally get the seared salmon nigiri I love this place but I think they should lower the price for the salmon the miso soup with the clams is also great I recommend this place to all my friends overall good quality food but they do have weird hours and when they are busy the food quality may vary

Dietary restrictions: They do have gluten friendly options

I placed an online order on Valentine's day for pickup. This was clearly a popular idea and resulted in the restaurant being bombarded by more orders then they could handle. This was my very first experience eating Kai and honestly I'm very impressed. I did have to wait a fairly long time but the food I received was well worth the wait. I was nervous the quality and presentation might suffer due to the order volume but it did not. Ive learned my lesson not to order on a holiday but I will definitely be back.

Put in an online order at 10 AM for 7:15 PM. Waited in the store until 8:15 PM and the staff said they have no idea when my order would be ready or could even tell me the order that they are processing the online orders.. asked for a refund and was told they could not do it in the store and had to send a picture to somebody else to get the refund.
