La Carreta Mexican Restaurant

The set up was pretty. They have it decorated for valentines. We ordered the Texan quesadilla and the steak tacos. The quesadillas had no flavor, none of the proteins did. The rice also has zero flavor... we were excited to try it because we've been seeing it on social media. Overall, I don't think we'll be going back.

Great service and value. Food was delicious but even though plates were hot, the food was not hot. Would still go again.

The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas and that was the only good part of our dinner. the service was incredibly slow and when we finally got our food almost an hour later it was flavorless and dry. when it was brought up to the manager she was incredibly rude, there was no apology and she was unwilling to do anything to resolve the complaint, instead I was told we should have spoken up sooner except that we only saw our server 3x the entire time we were there (when she took our order, when she brought our food and when she gave us the check). disappointed isn't a strong enough word to express how we all felt. Don't waste your time or money going here.

We had a family of 5 and we got seated right away on a sat night. The restaurant is nice and well decorated and in a good location off Oberlin Ave. We made a reservation but it looked like it wasn't really needed. The only gripe is we didn't get a waiter right away but the person that sat us seemed to go on break or didn't tell the waiter to come by. Once we got a waiter he was very good and attentive to our needs. The food was good, solid mexican. No complaints there and I think everyone enjoyed their meal. It is far away from us to stop by normally but maybe next time we are in the city. check them out!

This was the WORST service I've ever experienced. Our server was extremely lackluster. We asked for suggestions had questions and she couldn't give either. This was our first time, we traveled up from Charlotte to meet friends for dinner . I was extremely disappointed at the entire experience from the hostess to the server.

If you want authentic Mexican food do not come here. The food they served us was so bland. I got the green enchiladas and when they arrived they looked really good and I was excited. One bite in and there was absolutely no flavor anywhere. Even the rice and beans tasted like nothing. Not to mention that our waitress, Evelyn, was rude and barely came over to us. The only saving grace was that the restaurant was pretty. That’s it. My enchiladas were supposed to be chicken by the way, not too sure what they gave me as I have never seen chicken like that.

This place tricks you with pictures !! We were looking for a nice Mexican restaurant for our dinner but THIS IS NOT IT ! We waited over and hour four our food. The chips were burnt, asked for mild salsa, first person told me it was at the salsa bar, second person said only spicy salsa is at the salsa bar, waitress left and was nowhere to be found, ordered burrito for myself, BOILED CHICKEN NO SEASONING INSIDE, sister one ordered taquitos Mexicanos-bowl full of lettuce, sister two, ordered taco salad with onions, no onions, no guacamole, bland, shell tasted like oil and drink was supposed to be on the rocks, gave her a blended margarita, tasted like no alcohol. If I could rate it a zero I would !

the food was satisfactory, but a tad bit pricey for what we got. I had the burrito, and it was well seasoned but didn't have enough queso on it. however that is hardly a big deal and we still had a great time. The service was very attentive and friendly, they checked up on us often. In addition, the ambience of the restaurant was warm and cozy.

Got the #11 lunch special. It was supposed to be a chicken quesadilla, but what I was served was something worse than what you would get from an elementary school lunch.

Please read & pay attention to food orders! The food was good, but whoever made it paid absolutely no attention to my order. I asked for guacamole on the side & NO beans. My order came with both guacamole & beans on it.

We had lunch. We both had the Taco Tuesday special- tacos and a drink. What a deal!
Both the chicken and beef tacos were great. The tea was, too.
The service was exceptional.
We WILL be back!
