The best bakery in town. Authentic European ingredients, gorgeous presentation, delicious flavor. The owner/baker is a delightful man with a true talent for his craft. We come frequently and we’ve never had a thing we didn’t love.

I’ve wanted to try this bakery ever since I walked by it a few years ago. Finally had time to check it out while I was in the area tonight. Small selection made me think they care about perfecting their pastries and the long line reassured me waiting was the right choice. The guy behind the counter seemed pretty annoyed that I didn’t know what I wanted. I had never been inside before and there were 7 or so options of different things I’ve never seen besides macarons, but only 2 signs for items in the whole case. These were not easily identifiable like French pastries at boulangeries I’m used to, so I had questions. They’re fruit-shaped pieces with no descriptions. So I asked what things were. “The mango is mango. Pear is pear. Apple tastes like apple.” “But what is it?” “It’s mango.” “But what is it? Is it a cake..?” “No, what you see is what it is. What do you want” Apparently this bakery is not a bakery at all. There’s an entire selection of whole fruits that are just painted different colors. Not pastries. That’s what I got from him. I get excited to try unique shops even if they’re small. I love to support local bakeries. I thanked him and walked out. I did not buy anything and I will not ever buy anything from this business.

It takes some skill to make a dacquoise in the heat and humidity of our local climate, but to be able to make a Hungarian cake in the style of a dacquoise, with nuts and chocolate enveloping the cake, and have it turn out reliably delicious and beautiful is in an entire other tier of skill and finesse.
EDIT, January 2026: If you haven't been by recently, check them out again! They are making these fruit shaped desserts that are mousse encased in thin chocolate shells that are beautiful, delicate, and an wonderful example of the refined elegance of their work. Raleigh and the greater triangle area are lucky to have Bakery St. Honore in our area!
If you want beautiful, delicious, well executed pastries from around the world with the craftsmanship of a French patisserie, come here. I had three separate pastries, and each was delicate, beautiful, and well executed. From traditional meringue, to custards, tarts, gateau, and more, in flavors like chocolate, strawberry, pistachio, and passion fruit, is something here for everyone looking for a special occasion, or just special to you, treat.
They also cater! And they will begin serving crepes soon.
Come here, try something amazing, whatever you expect, you will not be disappointed.

A hidden gem. A friend and I tried the “viral desserts”- the mousse with a hard shell. It was phenomenal. Polite staff. Lovely and well worth the prices.

I enjoyed everything. I would have given five stars if there were options for children. My daughter enjoyed the chocolate tower and she drank bottled water. Hubby and i had coffee and desserts. Staff was so welcoming and pleasant.

Made a point to stop here while in town. Worth it!! My favorite is the raspberry and tiramisu!! All are delicious, fruity, and creamy all while not being overly sweet. I appreciate the hefty amount of fruit filling. Sad I don’t live closer. Staff, maybe the owner, was very kind and gave his recommendations on his favorites.

We visited the bakery on 1.3.26. Was not crowded and trying it out for the first time, we were totally shocked how the customer service was. No greeting for starters. The guy who was the cashier was helping the lady who was before us. He answered all of her questions, placed her items on a plate and gave her utensils. When we were next, he gave off an nasty disposition. We had questions of what items were what bc there was so signage with some (as you can tell in the video). He rudely asked where we all together (it was only 3 of us). I debated on ordering anything because it was clearly shown that he could care less about our business. And how did we get our order? Not presented on a plate but in clear containers. Asked for silverware, he pointed at the wrapped ones. We got our order and left disappointed. Not being from Raleigh, there will not be a need to visit ever again. I will stick with our bakery locally.

This cute, little bakery was beyond amazing! We went here because they make trompe-l'œil, realistic looking fruit pastry. We had the lemon, pear, mango, and peach pastry. Our favorite was the lemon. It was so tart and tangy. Pear was light with a subtle flavor…scrumptious!! Mango also had an amazing flavor. Peach was our least favorite. The creme was thicker than the others and maybe it was too sweet for us…
Macaroons were chewy and true to their flavors. We got passionfruit, chocolate raspberry, strawberry lime, and hazelnut Nutella.
We also got a Dubai chocolate croissant and a raspberry lime bun. Both light and fluffy and utterly, insanely good.
Friends had the quiches and both of my friends loved them.
Worth the drive and the price!

My family, and I came here today and tried the peach, pear, and mango fruit pastries. Absolutely delicious!
On my first visit I tried the pistachio tart. It was great. I loved the textures and I loved that it was not a sugar loaded pastry.
