Staff was great and extremely kind. However I always think it’s weird when restaurants do a surprise valentine’s day menu with no mention of it on their website or social media. i booked the restaurant with the regular menu in mind. but on the day of, it had extremely fancy food that i wouldn’t have picked if i seen it previously. the bill was $216 and they charged us $30 for a “large party fee” (we were two people). although they will probably respond to this review with an apology, they knew what they were doing when they did this, and for that reason i personally will not be back.

We tried Lakeside Kitchen for the first time on Valentine’s Day. We were so impressed with their menu, staff and dining room. We will now become regulars!

Nice first experience for a business lunch. Great menu offerings and love that it is farm to table concept. Beautiful scene of the lake.

We had an incredible dining experience at Lakeside Kitchen for lunch. I felt the salmon portion was on the smaller side for its price point. The flavor was exceptional. The staff was top tier. They balanced the line perfectly between personable and unintrusive.

We stumbled upon this gem accidentally. It’s in the alumni building on the N.C. State campus. Zak was a stellar waiter. The menu, while limited, offered enough variety that we both were able to choose something that we loved. I had the hamburger with the soup on the side (apple cider butternut squash). Both were outstanding! The soup was garnished with pomegranate seeds. So good! My husband had the Cuban sandwich with a side salad. The sandwich was large, tasty, and satisfying. We will be back!

We had an excellent lunch experience during our first visit to this hidden gem of a restaurant. Juanita and Kendra both were present to take care of our every need - from a sparking rose to delicious lunch salads to great service - we were spoiled the entire time. My husband and I dined outside because the temperatures had warmed up a bit. Juanita was more than happy to accommodate us outside as our server. The suggestion to get the Fall Harvest Salad was so appreciated as the flavors of the sweet potato pieces, cubed apples, spiced walnuts all tossed with a maple vinaigrette were outstanding. I chose to top my salad with blackened salmon while my husband opted for blackened chicken. A great lunch for a very fair cost in a beautiful setting. We hope to return again and again. For lunch, for their first Sunday brunch, and for any other offerings they might extend. A true hidden gem on the campus of NC State, tucked in the Alumni Center with free parking to the left of the building and a variety of trails to walk and/or bike on before or after your fantastic meal.

Great hidden gem on Centennial Campus! Good options for vegan, vegetarian diets. Lots of locally sourced produce.

We came for their brunch, which they offer on the first Sunday of the month. Tucked away, quite location within a bit of nature. Formal but yet relaxed and intimate atmosphere. Lovely for birthdays, anniversaries and special meals. Food was great. They exceeded our expectations. We had quiche, salmon omelette, a burger, and banana crepes - all great. And the unique cocktails were fun… we had a cereal milk martini and others. The staff and owner were welcoming, gracious and helpful. Definitely recommend and will return.

We are from Illinois and accidently stumbled upon this jewel when exploring NC State campus. The atmosphere and meal selections were excellent. Juanita, the hostess, greeted us warmly, thoroughly explained the menu, followed up with us throughout and made our visit 5 star.

I very much enjoy dining at Lakeside Kitchen as often as possible. The location is superb. Every menu item is tasty and well prepared. The service is outstanding. The atmosphere is quiet. I think that this is one of Raleigh's best luncheon destinations.

This was our first time at Lakeside Kitchen and it won't be our last! I found their offering as part of Triangle Restaurant Week 2025 and we are so glad we tried it. I ordered a delicious meal from the Restaurant Week menu and my husband ordered from the regular menu. The service from Luke was excellent and the staff clearly pays attention to detail and the overall ambiance of this comfortable restaurant. The winter view of Lake Raleigh from the windows was lovely. I would highly recommend Lakeside Kitchen. It is truly a special experience.
