This is a beautiful hidden gem for lunch in Raleigh. A most beautiful setting with an outstanding chef and impeccable service. Truly remarkable and unforgettable amazing food. I look forward forward to returning often when business takes me to Raleigh.
I was taken to your wonderful place for Mother's Day. It was incredible. I am a member of monthly lunch group, and I was excited to bring them over when it was my turn. Our reservation was for 12:15. We were the last person to leave at approximately 02:50? There were six of us. Five of us got salmon (which was outstanding) and only four came. We were finished eating when the fifth person was served her lunch. We ordered desert, mostly ice cream. It took so long to get the dessert two of our people had to leave taking the ice cream with them. Then the waitress took our credit cards one at a time to ring them up. Our late luncher was told she would get 10% off her bill. I asked to speak to manager but was told no one there had the authority to speak with. I then went to the receptionist and told her I needed to speak with someone. A very nice young man came out and told us manager was gone and he couldn't do anything. Meanwhile, we still haven't paid our bills. Some of the receipts had large party charge, some did not. The lady was finally given a gift card, which she said she would never use because she was never coming back. The atmosphere is elegant and inviting. The food is exceptional. I am a business owner myself and I understand problems. What I don't understand is the lack of attention given to our complaints. Too really succeed, the negative is more important than the positive, so you know what you have to work on. Sorry if I am ranting, but I was SO EXCITED to have my buds experience a WOW day but it turned out badly. Thanks for listening!
My husband and I very much enjoyed the Mother's Day brunch! We both had the salmon and salad. We shared a piece of chocolate torte and key lime pie, along with a scope of Howling Cow ice cream. All were delicious!
5/12/2024: Mother's Day Brunch at Lakeside Kitchen was delicious. I enjoyed a Limoncello spritzer upon arrival. The Bibb Salad and Gazpacho Soup were both delicious. The salmon main course was also delicious. The variety of desserts capped off a wonderful meal. The Key Lime Pie, Flourless Almond Torte, and lime macaroon were delicious. The anise and chocolate chip cookies were also tasty. The weather was perfect for eating in the outdoor patio. The waitress was friendly and professional.
Beautiful restaurant! Loved the outdoor seating area and the service was outstanding! The dessert bar was amazing also, however the appetizer and main entre were just ok. It was way overpriced for a cheeseburger/fries and chicken/waffles. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
Lakeside Kitchen is a very nice restaurant with a romantic feel about it. The food was really good and the service was just good. My only issue was finding it‼️ it is so tucked away. There is a beautiful view of the lake and lots of lovely spots to take photos if you like. Great outdoor seating for spring and summer. I look forward to going back‼️
Up and coming Raleigh Restaurant on North Carolina State University, Centennial campus. Food is great. Services is outstanding. Pitt alumni class of 1963. Go PITT ! ! ! Howard Dapper The only Dapper guy in Raleigh I
Hidden gem indeed! What a nice place for an evening cocktail and meal. Really nice ambiance. Good menu with dishes that were distinctively modern with a southern twist. Presentation, taste and freshness in all the dishes - tostada pescado, fried catfish and Brussels sprouts. Goat cheese beignets were a hit. Well done off the beaten path!!
Great spot for lunch, dinner and even a private event. Excellent menu and courteous staff. Private setting.
Lakeside was the perfect setting for a casual lunch minus the hubbub experienced from other popular lunch hot spots. The menu was not extensive, but offered a gratifying selection for vegetarian and other choices to please all. The food was excellent, especially the butternut squash bisque. It was so good, that we ordered another bowl. Aside from the otherwise excellent service, the 2nd bowl of soup took way too long to appear. An explanation was given that this was the chef's experiment of the day, so perhaps they ran out (which was not a reason given) and the chef graciously whipped up another batch on the spot. Regardless, it was delicious and due to the ambiance and privacy of the dining experience, I will return again.

Fantastic first experience at Lakeside Kitchen. Our server, Lisa, was so kind and responsive. We loved her menu suggestions. The butternut squash soup was amazing, and my husband loved the burger. The atmosphere is relaxed and lovely. We'll definitely be back!
Today I had a wonderful lunch at the beautiful Lakeside Kitchen! The avocado toast and the salmon are exceptional!
This was amazing. Had visitors from Japan and the entrance to the center blew them away. Phenomenal portrayal of NC State as a great institution. I was disappointed that it was not very busy for a Friday afternoon, so I may send a note to my departmental colleagues telling them of the new Lakeside ‘Kitchen' (though the “Kitchen” seems out of place for the venue). I also miss the free chocolate chip cookies (to die for).
Wonderful atmosphere and the food and service are impeccable. Had the chicken sandwich which was cooked to perfection and the fries are some of the absolute best. My friend had the hamburger and salad which were delicious too. Love this place, it's proximity to downtown, easy parking and to get to.
This was our first time to the Lakeside Kitchen. It's nice little restaurant and because the weather was so nice we chose to sit outside. The tables were all in the shade and the lake was in view of our table. I actually chose the restaurant because they had a skillet choc chip cookie w/ice cream that looked good. It was smaller than expected (actually just the right size), but he/we weren't disappointed with its taste! (And no, we didn't do dessert first LOL) When we got there we were seated right away and drink order were taken. Caution, they serve soda in can, not fountain drinks. After looking at the menu we both decided to get Caesar salad and what was impressive was that they used crouton crumbles which made it crunchy in every bite, instead of breaking your teeth on the huge burnt/dry bread pieces! For entrées my wife chose the Angus burger, which she really enjoyed, it was cooked perfectly, with non-burnt bacon and shoe-string fries lightly salted and with parsley flakes. I chose the shrimp tacos (got 2, could only eat 1) also with fries, which I also enjoyed. We were hoping to walk down by the lake (Lakeside Kitchen is their name), but sadly there was no path to take us there, so we looked at the statues on our way back to the car. Even though the menu was small we really enjoyed our meal here. Try it out!!
