I’m very disappointed with my experience at Lee’s Kitchen on N. Raleigh Blvd.
The cabbage was mushy, unseasoned and mixed with lima beans, corn, and peas! The curry chicken was very flavorless, the stew chicken was reddish orange with a thick gravy and way too sweet! On top of that, they were already out of plantains by 5 PM.
For $20 a plate, I expected better quality and some actual flavor. I won’t be returning.

Rude. Nobody spoke when we came in,it was 4 girls just sitting there talking,we waiting for 5 minutes we were the only customers no one asked to help nothing.terrible customer service we just walked out.
Food has the best flavor texture. If you haven't tried it.You need to.This is my opinion.I really like the food.

The food is overpriced, and the service is terrible. Rude people serving the food, and they made the sides separate price.

Expensive for small portions. The food usually tastes good.
I order a dinner plate of oxtail collard and plainte. It was $32. Ok. They tried to give me 4 of the smallest oxtail. Covered in gravey to throw me off.Half scoop of collard and 4 plantine The plate looked like it was for a first grader. I quickly got a refund.

I understand budget cuts, but you shouldn’t give canned sweet potatoes and charge more. They’re disgusting and stringy and their food used to be really good who sells an oxtail plate with no rice come on. There’s certain things that I really liked about this place and I’m really disappointed. I drove over an hour to pay $.55 extra so that my collard greens wouldn’t mix with my candy yams and they’re out of the can. And if I’m wrong, they sure taste like it

I gave 3 stars on the food - 4 on the service - 5 on the atmosphere. The reason for my review is because it was recommended I try this place (I do not live in Raleigh) As soon as I walked in, I saw a sign that said “Oxtails and rice for $10” - I went in already knowing I wanted oxtails. I also ordered a piece of coco bread. No complaints on the bread. But for $10 I expected maybe 2 oxtails with rice. What I got was “oxtail STEW” - that’s NOT what I wanted nor is it what the sign advertised. Yes the “flavor / taste” was good, however, if he had said “oxtail stew” vs oxtails, I wouldn’t have gotten it. Therefore, I wasted $14 because it’s not what I wanted. I want to SEE the meat ON the bone, NOT off. Just advise customers this so they can make an informed decision.

Today was my first time going here. I heard about it through a few people I know and it did not disappoint. The environment was very clean, the customer service was outstanding and the food was spot on! I had the jerk chicken salad and sweet potatoes and it was soooo good! I will definitely be back.

The turkey wings were amazing! I got the jerk and honey BBQ ones with collard greens and mac and cheese, and the flavor was unreal. The meat was practically falling off the bones!!! 🤤😋🔥 #Food #TurkeyWings #CollardGreens #MacAndCheese #Lee'sKitchen

I wouldn’t recommend Lee’s particularly the location on Raleigh blvd. There is no love put into the food, everything is just thrown together. I ordered an oxtail plate with collards, with a beef patty and slice of strawberry cake. My total was about $37. To say the least, I was extremely underwhelmed, I got more fat than meat with my oxtails, the greens weren’t well seasoned, and the strawberry cake was bitter. I did however enjoy the the beef patty. — This is my second time trying the restaurant and first experience was similar. — The store hours are ridiculous only opening from 1pm - 7pm, and the prices are pretty expensive. I don’t mind paying the price, I just want the quantity and quality to match.
