A friend flys into Raleigh every year from SF and the first thing he wants to do is go to Lillys and they never disappoint us. EVERY pizza is superlative and the ambiance is consistent for 30 years now. If you want great pizza, then you want Lillys.
so so good. New fav pizza spot in Raleigh
Excellent pizza cool
Staff !!
The best tasting pizza in Raleigh, if you like non-NY style pizza, which I do! The flavor combinations are inventive and well thought out, and the ingredients are fresh and high quality. Parking is a little adventurous, so make sure to wear comfy shoes for a short walk, but I think the pizza was well worth it. My family will be regular customers from now on.
Something has changed.... been eating there since 1990s....went tonight and it was horrible! I'm so sad that this legendary place now sucks
Was a great first experience. I mistakenly ordered an all meat pizza and meant to do like a supreme type, but was still super pleased with it! Definitely returning!
Never Again
If I wanted frozen, tasteless, cafeteria-style pizza, I would’ve stayed home and heated up a $2 box from the back of my freezer. Lilly’s Pizza in Raleigh served up one of the most disappointing Stromboli I’ve ever had the misfortune of trying. No flavor, no texture, and definitely no love. The crust was bland and doughy, the sauce could’ve been straight from a can, and the toppings tasted like they gave up before even showing up.
It’s like someone Googled “Italian pizza” and then ignored every single result. This isn’t authentic, this isn’t creative — it’s just lazy. You can tell there’s zero pride in what they’re putting out, and even less respect for the folks paying for it. Raleigh deserves better. Honestly, so does frozen pizza.
We have been to Lily’s many times so I felt confident suggesting it to my out of town guest. He went with another family member. First off, the ownership has changed. And it shows. BAD!!! My guest and my daughter both said the restaurant the food was beyond hideous and excessively expensive. They did not complete the meal and asked for a full refund or at least a discount. Again, they ate only a few bites and left the vast majority on their plates. They got neither a refund nor a discount. I was embarrassed to have sent them.
Honestly, the best pizza in Raleigh. I’ve tried all of the popular spots, and Lilly’s beats them all. The combination of sweet dough and perfect bake really makes it stand out. From the basic cheese to the specialty pies, Lilly’s is absolutely worth the hype. I highly recommend the Sgt. Scofflaw!
Cashier very rude and racist, made to wait excessive wait time when food was already ready when I arrived and told it wasn’t when I could clearly see it. Then asked to verify my order and no other customers was asked this even tho they had placed online orders to but I’m sure it was because they were white and not African American like me.

There were hardly any toppings—-Literally like 5 pieces of ground beef on a 16 inch. So disappointing. We don’t get to Lilly’s very often.
The best pizza ever but every time I dine in there’s an issue. Stopped coming here because there was a 2 hour wait to get our food one time when we went here to celebrate someone’s birthday. Decided to give Lily’s another try after years, but both times dining in lately we had to wait an excessively long time for just one pizza. It wasn’t even super busy. Watched so many groups of people get their pizza that had ordered AFTER us in line until our ONE medium pizza came (and it was cold by then). They probably forgot about us and did nothing to make up for the hour it took for the pizza to arrive. So don’t dine in unless you’re prepared to wait a long time. This always happens when I go.

Lilly's Pizza: A Slice of Heaven
I recently had the pleasure of trying Lilly's Pizza, and I'm so glad I did! The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, creating the perfect balance of texture. The sauce was flavorful and not too overpowering, allowing the taste of the cheese and toppings to shine through.
I ordered the Sir Walter pizza and it was plentiful and cooked to perfection. The cheese was gooey and melted perfectly over the pizza. The overall flavor was fantastic, and I couldn't get enough.
The atmosphere at Lilly's was cozy and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be returning to Lilly's Pizza in the future and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying pizza experience.
Parking can be a challenge but well worth it. Skip delivery, have a seat, dine local.

We honestly had a terrible experience here. They were hosting a private event but still allowed outside dine in. I guess we should have expected a wait but we ordered three pies. The first one came after about 15 min, great. We waited 30 more minutes for the other two - after which I checked in. They said they were in the oven. After another 15, one of them came out. Finally, after about 20 minutes, I decided to just get a refund for the third, which never came, even after checking in multiple times.

The pizza dough here is very sweet and chewy, almost tastes like dessert. The pizza toppings are also sweet so it lacks a contrast of flavors. It was also not very busy at all but we had to wait 40 minutes for two pizzas. The pizza was just not worth the wait.
