Our goal was shrimp and grits and they did not fall short. If I could twitch anything I would say add toast or French bread to the meal as it’s very saucy. Our waiter Diondre was very pleasant and checked on us often. The aesthetics are def very the 1930 even the music. Would highly recommend Mecca Restaurant. 9/10

Good, basic, breakfast, from back in the day. Excellent choc chip pancakes, huge and flavorful. Scrambled eggs tasted like they were fried in butter. Fresh fruit delicious 😋 This place reminded me of a Greek restaurant we all frequented in Boston when attending nursing school back in the 1970s. Many of the fixtures at the Mecca Restaurant are original, so the whole experience is a step back in time.

It was good! A fine breakfast for a good price in downtown Raleigh. It wasn't too busy, so I was kinda surprised the food wasn't very hot. For example, I was hoping that the fresh baked biscuit was gonna be piping hot and soft, but it was cool and chewy. But everything tasted good and the service was excellent.

we ate outside and it was very pleasant. The service was attentive and the atmosphere was beautiful. the interior is well decorated and the exterior facade is rustic and aesthetically pleasing. the chicken was very tasty however there wasn't much of it on the bone and it was mostly dark meat with connections.

Today was my first time visiting and I must say I'm very satisfied. The food was amazing cooked to perfection . The service was great we ordered online but they didn't start our food until we got there. It was fresh and hot when it came out. I will be returning and bringing new customers.

After reading positive reviews, I decided to try this place with some girl friends of mine for dinner. First off the atmosphere is great, love the look of it. Walked in was immediately greeted and seated. Only 2 other table were sat at the time. Our waiter was nice but not very attentive. My friend ordered the pork chops, I ordered the burger, my other friend ordered the chicken plate. Took over 25 minutes to get our food. The sides had no flavor and cold. The waiter had to take away my friends pork chop plate bc the cook forgot to add the barbecue sauce. ? They essentially took it to the kitchen and slathered it with heinz 57 sauce then served it back to her. My friends chicken was extremely dry. I don't usually leave reviews let alone negative ones. This place was extremely disappointing. Maybe the breakfast is better. But I will not be back.

Another restaurant that needs to have a staff meeting and explain how a restaurant works. Food is pretty good but not really worth the wait or bad attitude of the employees. Two of our party left after a waitress eye rolled over asking for a seltzer. They went to another restaurant and had food before we had coffee on the table. Another 2 of our party had been served and fully eaten before the other 2 got their food.No effort was made to actually right the situation. If you’re traveling and looking for an overrated towny restaurant with unorganized service, paired with a side of “we wish you weren't here” this is your spot.
Well we are here from the UK and may I say both me and my husband are exceptionally impressed Lovely service. With lots of history behind it ? Would I recommend it !!!!! Absolutely !!!!!!!! Western omelette definitely recommended from me ?? Hash Browns her definitely beat the ones we have in ??
