2/14/2025: This is our go-to restaurant before attending NC State home wrestling matches. My husband enjoyed the Wolfpack Burger and I loved the chicken tortilla soup with the Chipotle Chicken Melt without the bread. We watched the end of the NC State baseball game while enjoying our food and adult beverages. Service was great. Love this NC State spot.
Parking: If after hours, you can park on NC State's campus.
Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible since you must climb a flight of stairs to enter.

Honestly, I’ve loved Mitch’s for years. But they flipped up the kitchen pretty recently and it’s really great. I got my traditional Cuban sandwich today and it was so much better than it was, which was already really good. As a grad student, having an awesome place to get a sandwich (and a beer if I’m done with work) right by the department is priceless. Keep it up Mitch’s, and y’all always take good care of me so thank y’all.

We love coming to Mitch’s tavern for family dinners. Love the dark paneled “hole in the wall” atmosphere that’s stuck around & been consistent in the decades of changes around Raleigh. Of course we love the “bull Durham” history, but really more than anything it’s the “neighborhood bar” feels, the down home and laid back wait staff, and the pretty basic, but always good food & drinks. Definitely a family staple.
Kid-friendliness: No specific kids menu, but plenty of kid friendly food, and easily meet requests

This is the best bar in Raleigh. I come here at least 3 times a week and it never disappoints. Drinks are cheap and service is great would highly recommend coming here instead of going to glenwood.
