The food was amazing. The staff was wonderful. We had a hiccup with our order, but they went above and beyond to make it right. The cocktails were very good, some of the best we have ever had. There were 4 of us and we all had a wonderful time.

I love this restaurant. Me and my girlfriend sat at the bar and had great service and wonderful cocktails. I don't know the guy's name who works behind the bar, but he's very sweet and always takes good care of us. Chris, our server, was amazing! I had him as a server last week and requested him for last night. He is a great server and I will request him from now on. He's so friendly and nice.
Had lunch here recently. Great French onion soup. Salads are interesting combos of fresh ingredients.

This is our absolute favorite restaurant in the Raleigh area. Never had anything less than a perfect meal and the service is unmatched.
We decided to dine at Northside at the last minute on a beautiful Saturday evening. I was able to make a reservation via Open Table for 8pm. We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation and were seated right away. Morgan was our amazing server. I was really glad I made a reservation as there was limited seating. Northside is a nice sized restaurant with a decent amount of seating. Booths, high top tables & bar seating. There's a good vibe inside. We started with cocktails and the soft warm rolls w/ whipped butter that's brought out to each table. For our starter we had the Octopus Bravas. The potatoes were rather seasoned & spicy, and the Octopus could have had a little more flavor. I ordered the Seared Scallops, it's listed differently online where it comes with pasta. On their dining menu, the scallops are baked in a puff pastry in a mushroom sauce with breadcrumbs, served with yellow rice and garlicky spinach. My daughter ordered the Duck Confit with fingerling potatoes, not mashed. We gave our entrees 10/10 for presentation and 7/10 for taste. My daughter added garlic salt to her dish to bring out the taste. I didn't need to add anything to my dish as it was already pretty salty. The scallops were perfect. The dessert menu looks amazing, but we didn't have enough room to even try it this time. I'd definitely go back again and try other menu items.
Consistently awesome every time.

Northside Bistro is a great neighborhood spot. They are consistently busy and the food and service are consistently on point.
I have been there at least 10 times and have always loved it. Last night I could have gone without eating anything that we were served. We got the sashimi tuna, appetizer, so below average.. I got the salmon requested it medium, and it was more than well done. Sides were horrible. My husband ordered the scallop dish, below average. We were there with another couple that we have never dined with and did not want to complain. I have not been there in six months and I don't know what happened.
Major upsell going on here.
At Dinner, tried to order a burger on the menu, answer ….sorry we only have eight burgers a day and they are sold out at 7:30.
OK, I’ll take the chicken. Answer… sorry we are out of chicken.
So what’s left…. Only much more expensive options. The food might be good and the host might be charming and the atmosphere is nice but really I have to call them out for this quite underhanded practice. Not to mention the friendly bartender offered me his favorite tequila but failed to tell me it was $28 a shot when a martini was $15.
If you want to play this game, take these popular items off the menu. And you will not get a review like this.

This was my third time eating here and unfortunately I was disappointed as the food wasn't as good as my previous experiences. The menu on the website was very different than what was available on the menu at the venue, which was an immediate letdown as 2 of the dishes I was hoping to order weren't available. I ordered the salmon and it was just ok. It was served with soggy Bok choy and a gloopy sauce. Another person had the octopus appetizer and tuna both were good but not exceptional.
I ordered the duck wings and was extremely disappointed. They were burnt to a crisp, dry, and looked old — like they’d been sitting out for hours. To make matters worse, they didn’t even include the sauce they were supposed to come with. This was my first visit, and it will definitely be my last.

We had friends in from out of town, and they loved the ambiance and the selection of food. We all said our server was wonderful - helpful and attentive with suggestions. The food was delicious!
