Update 11/22/25 - just got home from having dinner here tonight and I had to update my review because it was pretty lousy (maybe I jinxed myself from raving about them). Server was just very slow, inattentive, forgetful and quick to dismiss all night. Forgot drinks until I was already half way through the second course. Water glasses were allowed to go empty and slow on refilling. Drinks were the same. Main course took forever to come out. Just makes me wondering since he was very easy to forget or not care about taking care of the drinks maybe he didn’t put the orders into the kitchen either. Interesting observation was that the manager was walking around all night, I watched him stop and converse with every single table except ours. That was very odd and felt rude. Food was good for the most part. However we ordered the market catch which was a flounder filet - it had to be no more than 5 oz which is okay but wasn’t mentioned to us from the server so as a man that ordered this you would expect the server to be specific and mention the size as it was filling. It was the size you would eat as if you were on a diet and counting calories, it was tiny. When you think of flounder you think of a decent size bigger piece of fish. Our fault for not asking I guess. Mashed potatoes were not as I remember, they weren’t as soft and fluffy they were thicker and drier. The only good impression left on me was the hostess, she was warm and polite offering the take home banana bread as we left.

After visiting this restaurant several times it has become a favorite with consistently great food and service. The rolls are a must have and worth the price. Tried various dishes and they have all been great, nothing ever disappointing. The salads come across as a bit different that what you would normally expect, not bad just different which can be good if that is what you are looking for. Drinks are fun and delicious with a good range to choose from. I enjoyed that they shared special zodiac drinks on their social media which weren't on the actual menu but when I asked for it they knew exactly what I was talking about. For desert they have the best chocolate cake EVER, highly recommend!

The food was excellent along with the bar drinks. However, what truly put the evening over the top was the entire staff we encountered. Friendly and helpful with sincerity. I've never felt more like the folks were genuinely happy we were there for dinner.

We celebrated my birthday with dinner at The Oak last night and enjoyed an exceptional experience from start to finish.
Service was a standout. Our server, John, was both attentive and personable, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and warmth. We began with cocktails at the bar; the Wright Flight, a gin creation, is particularly notable and highly recommended for enthusiasts of the spirit.
The bone marrow appetizer set an impressive tone for the meal, rich and well-executed. For entrées, my husband opted for the ribeye, which arrived remarkably tender and deeply flavorful. I chose the confit duck—a dish that truly captured the essence of fall, both in presentation and taste.
Desserts maintained the high standard. Think Espresso Martinis can’t get any better? Wrong- make it an affogato poured table side and you’ll be in heaven. The peanut butter pie delivered an elevated take on a classic. The evening concluded with a thoughtful touch: miniature banana breads presented alongside the check—an indulgence we savored with coffee the following morning.
We left with The Oak now our leading recommendation for dining in Raleigh, and we look forward to returning soon.

We went to Oak Steakhouse to celebrate my wife Brooke’s birthday, and let me just say… if Jesse and Nick ever decide to run for public office, they’ve already got my vote.

Our server Jesse was an absolute legend—somehow the perfect mix of professional, hilarious, and psychic. I swear he anticipated what we needed before we even said it. At one point I think he refilled my drink just by sensing my emotional energy levels dropping.

And Nick, the manager? This man operates like the CEO of Hospitality. He checked in on us like we were VIPs flown in for a Michelin inspection. He helped make Brooke’s birthday feel genuinely special—thoughtful touches, great timing, and the kind of energy that makes you feel like he actually enjoys his job… which, in restaurants these days, is basically a superpower.

The food? Incredible. The service? Elite. The vibes? Immaculate.

Brooke had an amazing birthday, and we left already planning our next visit.

If you’re looking for a place that treats you like you’re important and feeds you like you’re royalty, Oak Steakhouse—with Jesse and Nick on duty—is the place.

Food is great. Get the bread rolls. The burger is a 9 oz match made in heaven of taste, flavor, and value. Service is impeccable. I have been to other high end steak houses. Oak Steakhouse is certainly in my opinion in the top 5 best restaurants of Raleigh. You don't be disappointed.

Food was way overpriced for what you get. That was my only complaint. Smallest piece of filet mignon for $68 was a bit extreme!

Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service! We celebrated my son's 21st birthday with some bourbon education, great drinks, and an incredible meal. Between the four of us, we enjoyed filet mignon, duck, mac and cheese, Caesar salad, bread service, fries, chocolate cake, sorbet, and peanut butter pie—it was a full-on splurge, and so very worth it. The entire experience was fantastic, and I'm sure it's a birthday he'll always remember. 🥰 Thank you, Oak Steakhouse, for making our celebration extra special!
