Oro is an absolute gem in downtown Raleigh! From the moment you walk in, the modern yet inviting atmosphere sets the tone for an incredible dining experience. The menu is creative and perfect for sharing – every dish we tried was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The crispy Brussels sprouts and the paella were standouts, and the cocktails were just as impressive. What really sets Oro apart is the service – attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. If you’re looking for a place that combines innovative cuisine with top-notch hospitality, Oro is a must-visit.

Food was lukewarm warm and the fish in the fish tacos didn’t taste fresh. I dont like sort of warm food. The jerk chicken tasted like chicken with jerk seasoning spread on not authentic jerk chicken. Further the middle of the chicken was red=raw. Highlights of the evening were the caramel chocolate desert and the stellar service and atmosphere. I cannot say I would visit again unless I am invited to a special occasion dinner.

Daniel is the best server I’ve ever had!! We have been to Oro twice, two different years and have had unbelievable service. The food, with the experience and unique touches it really unbeatable. Our favorite restaurant in Raleigh!

Disappointing experience. Cuisine and decor was all over the place. Servers/staff were hanging around on their phones unattentive at times. Food quality was below average, lacked flavor. Table next to us sent dishes back due to undercooked items. Seemed like a lot of effort went into presentation of dishes, but lacked seasoning. For example, jerk chicken dish which should be loaded with flavor, simply had an underwhelming sauce cover an unseasoned chicken breast. Now I know why it was very quiet on a Friday/Saturday evening, I would not recommend.

I do not recommend this place at all. We ordered around 7 plates and not even one was somewhat good. Everything was unseasoned and cold. On the other hand, service was good and waiters are really nice.

Worst food I have ever had in a restaurant . Stay away from this place. The food is BAD, served cold with no seasoning. You are better off eating at the McDonalds across the street.

I am super sorry to write this. It has been a few years since going to Oro. I just had one of the worst meals in a very long time. The pork belly’s had to be cut with a knife, dry and hard. Same with the spare ribs. The small plates took so long for each to come out. Lots of waiting.

We first tried ORO three years ago and didn’t have the best experience—but hey, everyone deserves a second chance, right? So we gave it another shot last night. Walked in for what we hoped would be a relaxing dinner date... and walked straight into a nightclub. A DJ was cranking out loud dance music, which totally clashed with the candlelit-dinner vibe we were going for.

We ordered a couple of small plates, determined to tough it out. The risotto? Absolutely delicious—creamy, rich, and totally worth a bite. The corn on the cob on a stick? Confusing. I genuinely wasn’t sure if I was supposed to eat it like street food or politely deconstruct it with a fork. Either way, it wasn’t for us.

In the end, we bailed and headed to Death & Taxes down the road. No DJ, just perfect food, great service, and the relaxing night we’d been hoping for.

ORO just isn’t our scene. We’re glad we gave it another try, but a third round’s probably not in the cards.

Went to ORO with a group of friends recently. Love the idea of shareable small plates and the food was delicious. Menu provides variety of options to choose from and the customer service was exceptional. Atmosphere is great for dates, small group dining, or even a quick bite if you’re downtown Raleigh. I was also happy that the restrooms were kept clean. Will definitely go back soon!

Food was great and a perfect setting for a girl's night out or date night. Who doesn't like to order a lot of things and then share among friends and family?!

The food was absolutely delicious and Mr. Corey did an excellent job hosting me and my friends. He took the time to explain the background of each dish we ate and always made sure we had everything we needed thought our dining experience. 10/10 recommend!

I was very disappointed in the chef's inability to prepare my lambchops well done as requested. When I initially placed my order, I asked that they be cooked well. As I began to slice my lambchops, I immediately noticed pink and a bit of blood. The wait person took them back to the kitchen, and when he returned with them, they were burnt and tasted burnt. I always order my lambchops well done and have never expected this.

Server Savannah was awesome. Some of the food didn't measure up as advertised. Bone marrow had more duck in it than bone barrow.

An amazing experience. Every dish we had was spectacular. The cauliflower...the scallops....10/10
