We went to dinner because I read it was the last weekend the restaurant would be open. I booked a reservation three weeks in advance, but the best I could do was an outdoor table. I did not know that it would be a community table when we asked to be seated at the end of the table, we were told that we could not rearrange ourselves. Luckily the weather was mild. But we did not pay $170 for two people to fight flies for an hour and a half. had I known that I would be this uncomfortable. I would have bid the restaurant farewell with much better memories since I would have passed on dinner tonight.

This is the most difficult review I will ever write! I have enjoyed Plates Kitchen so much over the years. Plates has become a second kitchen in my life! I can't imagine a restaurant ever finding its way into my heart the way Plates Kitchen has. It is unfortunately time to say goodbye, and I do so with a heavy heart! I truly love all of the past, and present team that represents the Plates Kitchen restaurant! You will never be forgotten! For those of you that haven't experienced Plates Kitchen yet, you have a week to do so, go pamper your tastebuds!

Love Plates! It's been our family's restaurant for holidays and special occasions for years. So sorry to see it closing and had to have one last brunch to say goodbye. Lots of memories to be held tight here and appreciate all the staff who were the best. Good luck to everyone in your future endeavors and hope to see you around sometime in the future!

As always, the staff and atmosphere was warm and inviting. When we arrived, we were greeted like family. The food was amazing, the six of us enjoyed a variety of items from the menu and all were declared “most delicious”. We are so sad to see Plates closing, it feels like losing a long time friend. We wish all the best for each of the staff and hope to see them again soon, as the dream is reimagined.

A review is probably not necessary as Plates will be closing July 28th; however in the event Justin and David decide to open at a new location i would just like to add that their attention to detail, from ambiance to food originality and deliciousness to remembering guests by name to providing quality and exciting food and beverage at a reasonable price is outstanding! I am sorry to see them go and look forward to seeing them in a future location.

Excellent food! It was a busy brunch at Plates. They have an allotted time per table to help seat everyone as quick as possible and adhere to their reservations. Food was excellent, service was great considering how busy they were. We will definitely miss this restaurant and hope the chefs will consider a new endeavor in Raleigh!

I want to thank Justin and and Chef David for their year of generous hospitality and one wonderful experience after another. I will miss you for now but I know our paths will cross again when you land in your next adventure. Count me in I will be there! With gratitude! Always all the best, Stacey

Plates is one of my favorite places to eat in Raleigh and I am so sad it will be closing its doors at the end of the month. I have never been disappointed in the service or the food and I have been dining there since it opened in 2013.

Such a great experience! The food was good and vibe was sweet, quaint & cozy. I went at 11am on a rainy weekday so it was quiet but just what I wanted and needed. I hope to get back there again before they close! :-(

This was the first time my date and I visited Plates Neighborhood Kitchen and the experience for both of us was phenomenal. Our server Stephanie exemplified unsurpassed customer service that we had not experienced before. She was very attentive and conversational which added to the awesome experience. The food and drinks topped off the evening as both were prepared to our exact liking. We were disappointed to know the establishment is closing but will definitely be back and request Stephanie as our server when the restaurant reopens in the future.

We always enjoy coming to Plates. It is easy to park on Glenwood or close by. The service is outstanding. The wine pairings are well coordinated and reasonably priced. Excellent food quality and a great value.

My wife and I have enjoyed Plates since they came to Raleigh. When we want to go for gourmet food and a memorable meal we talk about for weeks, we go to Plates. We try not to repeat a favorite but explore new entrees, in doing so we have never been disappointed. I encourage all gourmets, foodies, or anyone with working taste buds to experience a true Raleigh "Jewel", Plates

We went during their restaurant week. Several excellent offerings with wine pairings. Great value. The chef prepared the Mahi with a spicy topping on an avocado smear. My husband ordered the catfish and grits. Atmosphere was casual and chic. Service was wonderful.

Excellent Service, food was plentiful , it was a little too oily. Plates is always a good, I like that you can get breakfast/brunch selections during lunch. I will return again in hopes of a different experience

Plates is my favorite restaurant for many simple reasons. They constantly overachieve when it comes to taste of food, plate presentation, the quality of service, the welcoming atmosphere they create for their guests! I can't say enough about Plates Kitchen! They deserve all the accolades from each and every single guest!
