I wanted to update my review with an important clarification. We had discussed tequila being part of our bar package before signing the contract, so we believed it would be included. After the event, we found out from our guests that tequila wasn’t actually available at the bar. I wanted to share this so others have accurate expectations. They impeccably handled my husband's celiac disease and all guest allergies, ensuring everything was executed safely and discreetly. This attention to detail gave us such peace of mind. We were particularly impressed with their attentiveness to us as the married couple—we never went hungry or thirsty for a second! Rocky Top catered our wedding of 120 this summer, and we were very happy with every aspect of the experience. Picking a menu that matched our vibe (casual southern BBQ) was a breeze, the sampling was helpful and easy, and communication was solid (though we did end up going through ~6 different point people during our ~12 months of planning). We also used them for bartending service (with signature cocktails!), which was similarly breezy. Everything went very smoothly on the day – they were accommodating of our special requests (such as helping set up a cookie table for dessert), and all of the employees were a delight to interact with.
Oh, and yes, the food tasted great!

We did 2 tastings and they were very accommodating as one of the entrees was too spicy so their chefs adjusted it just for us. We used Rocky Top for my son's wedding. We had hors d'oeuvres and a charcuterie board for cocktail hour. Highly recommend the chicken and waffles! When our guests sat at their table, we had a lovely plated salad and then a delicious BBQ buffet. The food was amazing and I have had nothing but wave reviews from our guests. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Rocky Top Catering! We used them to cater our daughter's wedding last month at Carolina Grove and they really knocked it out of the park! Food and hospitality are very important to both families so we were looking for a caterer that could deliver on both aspects.
We had a great experience with our initial tasting with Nichole Benjamin and we knew right away that RTC was the caterer for us! We worked very closely with Nichole and she was simply amazing. She literally made every single request happen. From a special meal just for our flower girl to gluten free options for a few guests to tweaking sauces and ingredients. She was patient, super responsive, and incredibly easy to work with. We had consults with 3 other caterers and a tasting with one of those and Rocky Top was by far the best choice. We had a buffet with chicken, shrimp, and prime rib, along with a veggie medley and the garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Do yourself a favor and GET THE GARLIC MASHED POTATOES! They are amazing and people are still talking about them! We also did a waffle fry and sweet potato tot bar for late night food. It was incredible as well and had so many toppings!
