Sadly, STR is closing in 2 days. We went last night to support you before you close. We were seated right in front of the dinner managers' hostess station. Listening to her the entire time was just horrible. Horrible. Horrible. We had to listen to her gripe and moan, make ugly comments about customers in general, add up things out loud. She was literally loudly talking out loud to herself, knowing full well we could hear every single word she was saying. We were facing her and our table was a foot or 2 from the hostess station. We were forced to endure hearing her talk badly about how people shouldn't expect perfect service, how people shouldn't be complaining, what do they expect, etc. She loudly asked Siri on her phone to do math problems (addition), made snide, ugly comments mostly about customers. We didn't come to have dinner to listen to this vile woman. I am sad. So so so sad to see this restaurant go and hopefully it will reopen one day nearby. I do want to put a shout to the manager......thank you for all the years of good food and friendly service. But please don't take that vile horrible dinner manager woman with you. I can't express how horrible our experience was simply because of her. For identification purposes she was older than everyone else working in the dining room, some grey in her hair, full figured. Everyone else appeared to be in their teens and/ or 20s. The wait was no big deal, y'all were busy and short staffed. Our order was wrong and mixed up, but the food was absolutely delicious, as always. We sent nothing back. I have no complaints about the food, just that one person. Please please if you guys reopen do not take that vile woman with you. I wish the restaurant owners and the other staff the very best. We will miss STR.Parking: Difficult to find parking in the shopping center

Had a delicious burger with a well-poured bourbon and watched the Canes game among other Caniacs. It was a really fun experience! Give yourself some time to park. Thanks!

Please don’t permanently close, it’s been open for business for a long time now. My family and I went here, we used to go here as a family but not anymore. We even went to their neighbor, Sola Coffee Cafe as a family one time, only one time. I’m gonna miss them being neighbors, you’ll be missed by us Sawmill Taproom. You’ll be gone but never forgotten Sawmill Taproom, you will be missed and remembered by so many people, including me who was one of your favorite customers. I would go back I think if it wasn’t permanently closing soon within the next couple or few weeks. Or we could’ve and should’ve gone more, my dad and I actually went there for lunch once only once only one time last year. I was sad when I found out that you guys are and were permanently closing, and I will be sad when you guys do permanently close. But I know that you guys are on to big and better things and I know that something will open up for business there soon. Best wishes, and good luck Sawmill Tap Room, we will miss you, I actually remember being there I think.

I just moved to Raleigh and this restaurant is right around the corner. I had the beef tips with gravy over rice and it was the perfect comfort food that I was craving- yummy. The hand breaded chicken tenders and homemade chips were also delicious.Healthy portions, fair prices, and super friendly staff.I will definitely be back.

My sandwich was good and the seating was very comfortable and roomy. Our waiter was very attentive. Hate to see the restaurant closing - maybe an updated menu with some entrees that the younger crowd likes, as well as some decorative updating, could reverse the decision to close. There is really nice outdoor seating which is also a plus.

Probably the best chili I've ever had at a restaurant. Atmosphere is warm and inviting, not too loud at all, terrific service. Shout out to our waitress, Haley, for taking such good care of us. They also have a good beer selection.

Great bar with good food. The bartender is fantastic and the prices match the drapes.

I'll preface this with I only go to the bar side and I've never really been to the restaurant side. But from that perspective this place is excellent. Reasonable prices, great bartenders/servers and good food. It is A-la-carte so keep that in mind if you go. The patio is awesome during good/warm weather. Great place to watch a game and they have most of the sports packages (NHL,NFL for sure)

Even though the place has changed hands a few times, the one thing that I can assure you that has stayed the same is the pickle chips. They are always light and crispy and the ranch dip always hits just right.Just trust me. Get a beer, get some pickle chips.

I believe the food and service was outstanding and I would recommend to anyone visiting to Raleigh.

My wife and I absolutely loved the Hefty Nacho here. We considered them the best in Raleigh. But, a couple of months ago they started using cheese sauce from a can and they're no better, if not worse, than nachos you can get anywhere else. If I wanted cheese sauce from a can, I'd go to a Canes, Bulls or Mudcats game. Not sure why there was a switch from shredded cheese, which melts fantastically over the tortilla chips, to the canned cheese sauce, but I've heard many, many people complaining and cursing this change. Until they go back to the days of old, don't expect to sell too many Hefty Nachos without completely disappointing your customer base. YICK!!!

Comfortable seating, friendly staff, and good food. The menu has been updated in recent months and now takes an "a la carte" approach -- this results in entrees having a lower price than might be seen at similar establishments, but balances out when factoring in the added cost of sides. The food is well prepared and tasty -- typical American Bar Fare, including sandwiches and burgers. A wide variety of no calorie / low calorie drinks are available, as a pleasant alternative to "only Diet Coke" -- and the sweet potato tater tots are a unique and tasty side.

The food was great and the service was great as well! Very competitive prices for the area, and the food quality for pub style food is really great. All places are short staffed now, it's up to us as patrons to be patient and perhaps try and come out at a time where the restaurants aren't so busy if we expect to be promptly taken care of. We can all do better to support our local restaurants, and patience is free. Thank you, Becky!
