Side St. Restaurant is the cutest little local sandwich shop in Raleigh! Everything on the menu is great and it’s all fresh and homemade. While the lunch menu is delicious, the desserts are some of the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend the fudge pie and the black bottom pecan pie. My family and I have been eating here for years and it never disappoints!

I looked online at the menu, decided to call in an order based on the prices I see online. The salad I order was 10.25 get there to pick up my food, ( on my lunch) and they tell me its 15 .38. i asked again she says 15.38 with an attitude, well not friendly face. Then she proceeds to tell me the price online is not right. well how was i to know. Now the right thing to do is to honor the price, or atleast offer me something for my inconvenience. But instead i get attitude. Then i called and seemed to have gotten the same thing over the phone from the manager.. IF you price online is wrong, and you know its wrong, i would give a total to anyone that call in, you cant assume people know. Once you realize it was wrong then you should honor the price. But not here not at this place. Rude and Wrong.

I had an unsatisfactory experience at SIDE STREET RESTAURANT.First, noone is answering the phones so I walked over about 2 blocks from the office to order. I was surprised that it was not really busy at all so I informed them the phone wasnt working and the lady could care less. This should have been a sign but I digress- so I ordered a side street sub 9.85 to include a side (chips) from the to go menu and a cup of tomato bisque soup (5.85) and I was on my way. The total when I got my receipt (digital) was 22.18 (.85 included for using a card). With a sale tax and food tax of going with 9% should have been $17.11 there was NO tip added because I was not seated/served and annoyed that I walked to the site to order and got the careless attitude. What was the extra $4.22 for? No notice that gratuity was automatically added, no itemization of the receipt to contest and to make matters worse the sub was submerged in so much italian dressing the bottom bun was no longer bread but a mush pile of meat ,tomato and gluten mush. This place is a mess. I guess if I was a neighborhood hipster or one of its senior customers it may be the spot but I certainly wont be returning.

The staff was very cold and not exactly welcoming. The food was decent…. No real complaints…. Took awhile for just about empty restaurant/Deli. The special chicken salad tasted like suspiciously like Costco chicken salad…. So that was humorous and gave us all a good chuckle.Interior could use some sanitation upgrades… lead paint pealing from ceiling, broken fans that were missing blades…. They don’t look like they’ve ever been cleaned..The sweet was coming out of a bucket…. One would question the sanitary nature of this. But all in all….. worth a stop

Food was excellent. Wait staff was very good. Great place for a business meeting. I gave service 3 stars because the lady at the register was miserable and lazy.

Absolutely stellar food. Southern cooking’ with an offering of well over 15 sandwiches, all very unique. The atmosphere is beyond cozy. This place has been open since before I was born, and as a matter of fact my mother worked there when she was in high school! Fantastic place for lunch. I cannot recommend it highly enough!
