Smooth Joe Coffee

Love everyone and everything about smooth Joe location. I been coming here 3+ years and this place has always made a space for me and my kids to feel a sense of home. We homeschooled here in peace, worked from my laptop, and studied for exams and it’s always a lovely vibe. I can’t express how much I truly appreciate how they remember my family and always ask about them, never once forget my name and even remembers that I love LOVE mayo🥹 I’ve tried everything on the menu and always AMAZING! The music is perfect 👌🏾 and the love I feel from the people who work here has always been genuine 💞 thank you ALL for always spreading love through your drinks, food and service.

This lovely neighborhood coffee shop has excellent coffee and SEVERAL gluten free/dairy free pastry options. I enjoyed an almond milk flat white and slice of almond Bundt cake!

I am a disabled veteran and a regular in the neighborhood, and I will not be coming back to Smooth Joe. On a very cold day, my teenage daughter came in with our well behaved dog and was quietly waiting while the barista made her matcha. The owner told her it was not appropriate to have the dog inside and forced her to wait outside in the cold. When I followed up, he said he did not need to ask if the dog was a service animal because it was “clear” she was not. This showed a complete lack of understanding of service dog access and very poor judgment in how to treat customers.

Stopped by on a Wednesday morning and found it nice and quiet with quick, friendly service. I ordered an iced latte and a cinnamon roll — they warmed up the roll, which helped since it didn’t seem to be the freshest, but the coffee was solid. There’s plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. I just wish they had a few more pastry options to choose from. Still, for about $10 for a coffee and cinnamon roll, you really can’t go wrong.

An unpretentious, pleasant spot to grab coffee. Glad it’s so close to wake tech and I can pop by before a study session. Please never stop making the gluten free banana chocolate muffins—I adore them!!

Was told good things about this place however today seemed like everyone was a brand new hire, seemed like people were not knowing what to do. I announced my order to the cashier who did not enter it in correctly. The number of drinks ordered was missed and after waiting about 10 or more minutes I only found out after receiving one drink.I asked the cashier about it and she simply said I did one, never asking if I would like her to ring me up for another or offering any form of condolence. Customer service needed work in this situation. I had never been here before so I was trusting the process however now I will have someone read it back before placing it. The cappuccino we ordered tasted like scalding hot water with instant coffee. I was so let down we just left. Very disappointed with this visit, more then likely wont return.

I would make this a stop every day if I could. Love the environment and lattes. Great place to study and feel relaxed. The outside patio is super comfortable!
