Sunny’s diner is
-Affordable
- Kid friendly
- Easy simple diner food for the family.

Sunny’s diner is casual, comfortable and easy going. It can get really busy so I love stopping in after the lunch rush. If you don’t want to spend a fortune, deal with the hassle of fancy restaurants but want good, easy, food this is your stop. Perfect for: spontaneous family lunches/diners, meet up spot for friends, post Umstead visit, quiet solo dining and quick easy take out

Plus everyone loves the owners, they have brought such joy to our forever growing north Raleigh.

I’ll always recommend Sunny’s

The waitress is very nice and friendly. The place also has a retro cafeteria vibe. That being said the food was bad. I got the hobo breakfast and it came with the three meats so generous portions, but the ham was tough and dry, the sausages were extremely grease, the eggs were at least edible as was the bacon. Let's take a second to talk about their coffee though. I expect breakfast coffee to be strong, skip this place and go to the dunkin next door if you want strong or even palpable coffee. I'm also pretty sure the pancakes are pre made in the morning or even frozen as they were tasteless and somehow tough, I needed a knife to cut through them. This is one hole in the wall not worth trying in my honest opinion, while cheap it isn't good.

Decided to give this place a try this morning and i’m so glad i did!! The place is very unassuming from the outside as it is right next to a gas station, but the inside was very quaint in my opinion and was kept very clean. The gentleman who i assumed was the owner was cooking, and both him and another woman were taking orders, as well as running food and drinks, and they both did it all with a smile on their face.

The menu options are nothing fancy, just traditional breakfast items and lunch sandwiches, but sometimes the basics are just what you need on a saturday morning. The portion sizes were just right, not too much and not too little.

I got the Reuben from the lunch side of the menu and it was everything a reuben should be. The thousand island came separately so you could add as much as you wanted which i appreciated. The sweet tea was also delicious.

My partner got the pancake combo. the pancakes were fluffy and the eggs and sausage were all cooked perfectly.

Our meal only ended up around 20$ but we made sure to leave a good tip(and you should too) for all the hard work the owners are doing. I highly recommend this little diner and I will absolutely be coming back.

What a great little diner attached to a gas station and a Dunkin' Donuts. The food was unbelievable and the value is fantastic. $7.50 for two pieces of French toast, two sausage links and two fried eggs! Service could have been a little more timely, but otherwise it was good enough. I noticed also that the bathrooms are wheelchair accessible, please see my picture.
