I don't really want to tell you how much we love this place because they don't take reservations and I don't want the lines to start getting crazy long, but we really really love it. Top 5 best sushi in the Triangle.

We’ve come to dine as 4 people and a 2 year old. They said they would take us after 30 minutes of wait, we agreed. After 40 minutes of waiting, they told us they didn't have a seat for the 2 year old and couldn't seat us. It was like they were kidding us. If they had given us this information at the beginning, we wouldn't have waited 40+ minutes in the first place. And they didn't even apologize or felt bad in the slightest. So, we wasted an hour for nothing. This is a place that should never be visited and has serious attitude problems. I don't recommend it to anyone.

Great sushi. Horrible vibe being sat in a hotel lobby by a rotating door. It really ruins the whole experience.

Sushi Mon was recommended by my cousins friend saying this is one of the best sushi place in the area and boy was he right. Both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 sushi we got along with the Sushi Mon hand roll (little pricey) and the Mother’s miso soup. Everything was delicious and fresh. Sushi rice was properly cooked and seasoned which was very important to us. Definitely we’ll be back!!

We had high hopes for this sushi place, but were seated in what seemed like a hotel lobby elbow-to-elbow to other customers. With the close proximity to other customers and the walls of windows around us, it was very loud and we couldn't hear each other speak. The service was good, but the food was okay and very overpriced. Overall, I don't recommend.

Okay, so this 5 Star review carries with it the weight of 6 amazing years dining at Sushi Mon.

From their first spot nestled in-between Zaxby's and an NCSU apartment complex, to their temporary cafe location during COVID, and now to their current, elegantly tiny space, we have dined at Sushi Mon for most of our special occasions in life. And throughout all of these years, their quality has only improved.

Sushi Mon is always my recommendation when people ask for good sushi in the Triangle. I believe it's the best quality you can find in this area; rivaling, if not besting, the M Sushi empire in Durham.

Even though it's not the typical, one-at-a-time omakase experience, their Nigiri Omakase has always been such a great option. Getting their Mother's Miso Soup (a rich and fatty miso soup with fish and cabbage), 8 nigiri, 1 temaki, and a slice of their castella style tamagoyaki all for under $50 in 2025 is a great deal.

Their sashimi options have always been of high quality and beautiful presentation, with the addition of real wasabi, both grated and pickled (kizami).
The truffle tuna roll is a favorite and my recommendation if sashimi/nigiri isn't your thing.
And if sushi isn't your thing, their small plates are also all delicious and expertly crafted.

All in all, if you love sushi, you will never be disappointed at Sushi Mon. We have eaten Michelin star sushi in the US and experienced omakase in Tokyo, and Sushi Mon always hits the mark.

Also, they only accept walk-ins; reservations are only taken on Valentine's Day.

Definitely top 3 sushi spot in Raleigh, and there's a strong argument for #1. Fantastic service, food, and the atmosphere makes you feel like you're in a much bigger city than what you're actually in. One of the better kept secrets in Raleigh.

We had such a great night! The Kiss of Fire and Truffle Tuna rolls and spicy garlic edamame are not to be missed. And the chocolate mousse cake was not on my radar before going but it was a highlite! The restaurant is tiny inside (max seating is probably around 30) and then they have a few tables outside of the main restaurant (lobby of an office building). The inside is gorgeous. The outside is okay not great ambiance - but because it’s so good I would sit there now that I’ve experienced the inside. They don’t take reservations so get there early - and if you have to wait there are is another bar around the corner where you can get a drink. They don’t have a bar you can go up and order at. I can’t wait to come back!

Exceptional service, food, and wait time. Sushi can be a prolonged affair, but this sushi bar has incredible organization. The taste, quality, and professionalism were noticable. I don't want to say it's the best sushi in Raleigh because it will get busier then, but it deserves to be. I'll keep enjoying it until everyone finds out.

Small, intimate, very trendy restaurant. Menu options were numerous...some traditional and others quite modern and cutting-edge. Presentation of all dishes is exceptional as was the taste. We got there just before closing after lunch. The staff didn't rush us and made us feel very comfortable. I will definitely return and I strongly encourage others to give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

The food was amazing. Every course was melt in your mouth which is why I am at least giving some stars. Service is not great- our waiter went home sick, which I totally understand. The problem is nobody came to us with the check, even though they were serving the table less than a foot away from us. We had to go to the host station to find someone to check us out after waiting over an hour for anyone to even look at us. There was only that one other table within arms reach and us in the entire area. We were not hidden- this could not have been an accident
