I’ve been to this sushi restaurant a few times before, but this visit was disappointing. During the omakase nigiri, the server introduced each type of fish on a long serving plate. As she went along, she ran her index finger directly along the plate from one end to the other. This is very unsanitary, most servers would simply point from a distance without touching the dish. She also had her finger inside the miso soup bowl while serving, which was equally unhygienic.
On top of that, the server wasn’t friendly and didn’t inform us beforehand that they were out of tamago. We only found out when the food was brought to the table. Overall, this was not the experience I expected.

Sushi Mon completely blew us away for date night. We came in expecting a casual sushi dinner, but ended up having one of the best date nights we’ve had in a long time. The food was incredible - the yellowtail sashimi was fresh, buttery, and perfectly sliced. The spicy tuna roll had the ideal balance of flavor and heat, and was clearly made with care and high-quality ingredients.
But what really took us by surprise - The desserts. We weren’t planning to order two, but we couldn’t resist, and we’re so glad we didn’t. The lemon mascarpone cake was light, zesty, and just the right amount of sweet, and the chocolate cake was rich, decadent, and honestly one of the best we’ve had anywhere. You don’t expect to have a dessert highlight at a sushi restaurant, but Sushi Mon proved us wrong in the best way.
Also, Dona was the best server. Warm, attentive, personable, and just the kind of person who makes a great meal feel even better. She made sure we were well taken care of the entire evening and truly elevated the experience.
We’re already talking about coming back when we’re craving sushi. Sushi Mon is a standout, and Raleigh is lucky to have it! 🍣🍰✨

Best sushi we have had in Raleigh. Small restaurant and the wait was about a hour on a Saturday night but well worth it. Awesome spot for a date night and will definitely go back. Make sure to get the honey toast for dessert.

Aesthetics... music... food. Currently on a work trip and luckily found this place on Google. It's in a beautiful, quaint location with a convenient parking garage attached. Everything I ate was an experience. I felt comfortable eating alone at the Sushi bar too which is saying a lot. I suggest getting here when it opens as it does tend to get busy quite fast, which honestly is a testament to this restaurant.

Fantastic sushi restaurant! Inside is small but service was fantastic. Alot of variety, few dishes for people who don't like sushi. Pricey, but worth it.

Sushi Mon inspires sushi cravings that last long after your first visit. If you like good, fresh sushi, friendly and attentive staff, and an intimate dining ambiance, this is the spot for you! I ordered the unagi (eel) sushi, which was perfectly savory and fresh. I’d also recommend the gyoza dumplings; tender, juicy, crisp on the edges, and full of flavor. This place is perfect for solo diners or a meal with friends/family. Fairly priced, and very well worth it, Sushi Mon is now a go-to of mine!

Incredible food the sushi they have is generally unique and you won’t find it other locations. It’s very fresh. The aged soy sauce is phenomenal. I wish it was a larger location because you can expect an hour plus wait for two people.
