Best Moussaka in the area! But I noticed one of the waitresses has her very long hair down all the way to her waist. When she served food her hair was dangling in the way of serving. I was surprised that restaurant with very cleaned bathrooms would allow waitress to let loose her hair. Seems unsanitary.

I've eaten here for so many years and have enjoyed it every time. It's a Raleigh institution to me! Taverna is a good spot for groups, dates, or just for yourself. The food is good to great, and the atmosphere is hard to beat - especially if you like a nice rooftop like I do. It's typically on my DTR list for out-of-town friends who are visiting. I've never had a bad meal, but my usual favorites are the traditional gyro, moussaka, dolmas, baklava, and orange cake. Make a reservation if you're going for brunch - the menu is great and they fill up. Service is good and friendly, and in my experience, is only a little slow when they're really busy (which is completely understandable).

Was such a unique find and was such a great place for group dinners and team outings. I loved the atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant. There aren't too many Greek restaurants I feel like in Raleigh, NC, so this has definitely been a staple restaurant for me. The food is really good, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating

We sat in the open front porch area. We both ordered mocktails - mine was a blueberry and basil lemonade, his was a citrus (grapefruit) soda of some sort with baklava syrup - very tart. We both enjoyed. For our meals I had the moussaka and he had the souvlaki platter with pork. He ended up eating off my plate. Highly recommend the moussaka. The service was great, the restaurant itself is beautiful. I absolutely loved dining here and will be coming back.
