Yes the holiday events at Haymakers are amazing but i love it any time of the year. The atmosphere, vibe, drinks AND staff are the best. Def a step above anything in Raleigh!

Had to wait in line, had to pay a cover charge? Had to order at bar from bartender that clearly didn’t want to be there. Honestly, it’s the Holidays so shouldn’t everyone be nice, apparently not! She’s not nice. Just don’t go here it’s not worth it!

I haven't visited Haymaker for a few years but decided to try it with some family and friends over the holidays to check out the decorations. The environment in there has completely changed compared to a few years ago (way less lively).
Yes, there is a cover ($5) to get in, and you usually have to wait (one in one out) even though it doesn't seem like it's crowded.
Upon entry, it was a pretty sterile environment. Pretty much one in one out so it seems like they try guarantee everyone a seat. No one is walking around, and there were no servers coming to the tables. You have to go to the bar to get served $15+ average cocktails in half broken santa mugs. The bartender was unfriendly, and she seemed annoyed with how excited we were to be drinking at her bar.
I never write reviews, but I felt I should based on how poor the experience here was. If you're looking for a fun place to grab a drink around the holidays, I'd recommend going anywhere else.

Holidays at the Haymaker aren’t what they used to be. Be prepared to stand in line in the cold and stand around inside while sipping on overpriced, yet festive drinks. Drink prices range from $16-$20 and there is limited seating indoors.

It’s a quaint little spot which definitely feels warm! We came during the Christmas time, so it was decorated festively. The bartenders were nice and friendly, which was much appreciated. Plenty of holiday drinks to choose from. I definitely recommend you stop by!

Loved everything about this cute festive bar! Staff 10/10! Drinks 10/10. DJ 10/10. Had a great time. Be prepared to wait if it’s crowded. Dress warm. We had a small wait but it was worth it. They have a cut holiday drink list or you can order a beer or your favorite cocktail. It’s cute for a girls night out or a drop in before dinner which is what we did. There is a $5 cover which I was not anticipating but it was no problem. Just bring cash.

Saturday night- no music. No crowd. Very dead- if you want a quiet drink it’s a place for you
Popped in for drinks before a concert and LOVED the vibe. Drinks were awesome and staff was low key, yet very attentive and friendly. Just the perfect spot for some fancy cocktails on a beautiful atmosphere.

We recently rented had our sons Rehearsal Diner at the The Haymaker and the event was a huge success. The team did an amazing job of serving us and our guests the entire time. The Manager (Josh) was very helpful from our first communication and he helped us make the event a success. Our family is still talking about the fun time we all had and we really appreciate everyone there to make it so amazing. Highly recommend for any events you may want to have in the future.

Honestly it’s a waste of time and there is no reason there should be a fee to get inside (it’s dead inside), when there are a dozen of bars that are 10x better that don’t charge one.
Why not let people know tables are sold out and bar is full before charging an entrance fee?
Unfortunately the good night my Fiancé & I had at this bar was overshadowed by incorrect charges on my debit card. No, we did not open a tab. No, we did not order a bunch of drinks. We literally ordered the same drink 3x. The price was different for 1 out of 3 drinks. Reached out to the manager who told me, Oh you probably opened a tab and didn't close it out which warrants a 20% charge at the end of the night. NO SIR I DID NOT! We are fully aware of what we did/did not do and we DID NOT open a tab. I would not waste my time reaching out had a tab been opened. At this point it's not about the money, but about principle and businesses caring to correct their mistakes. It's unfortunate that this one experience will change how we view this place moving forward. They don't care to right a wrong.
