We found The Peddler Steakhouse thanks to a ChatGPT recommendation—and it did not disappoint! We went early on a Saturday (they don’t take reservations for small parties) and waited about 20 minutes. The atmosphere is classic vintage steakhouse—dim lighting, wood paneling, real candles. $12 Cocktails were top-notch, and both the prime rib and ribeye were incredible. Loved the salad bar/baked potato setup. Can’t wait to go back!

We were seated right away even though we didn't have a reservation. Server was there table side right away. Great salad bar. Did take awhile to get our food. Definitely worth the wait

Raleigh Institution serving great steaks in an old-school atmosphere. Prime rib is great, if that is your thing. but i loved the grilled ribeye served medium rare. Steak is cut at your table. Well-stocked salad bar, that does double-duty as a loaded baked potato station. all entrees include salad bar and a simple slice of grilled bread.

I travel to Raleigh on business quite often. Everybody says go to Angus Barn. I got to tell you go to Peddler! It's a throwback atmosphere reminds me of simple or times late '70s early '80s. Salad bar is unique in this day and age and food is top shelf. I've been to this establishment three different times it's never let me down. Drinks are also quite solid. Kind of can't go wrong give it a go it's right down the street from Angus Barn hidden in a little shopping center but well worth the dollars and consider it an adventure!

It was a little bit of a disappointing experience. The place was dark and kinda musty. Seating is also awkward as there's not much space between the seats. Service was fine, but the food was meh - overpriced for the quality of it, imho. It's not really worth the almost 2-hour wait to get a table.

The only reason I am giving this place a two is for the waitress that I had she went above and beyond very good waitress. As for the food I have had a better steak at waffle House. I have been sick for 2 days now because of eating this trash. Something smelled a little off with the state but I should have trusted my gut and not ate it. I shall never return to this establishment. The potato was hard as a rock I don't see how they are still in business serving trash like this. I don't know what happened but this place used to be okay, All I know now is you need to do better or you're not going to be in business very much longer.

Love this steakhouse, food is excellent but they need more lighting, a little too dark in there in my opinion.

Always good food and cocktails. However I wasn't crazy about the cocktail shrimp so I sent it back.

I love the Peddler Steak House! My now 80yo in laws have been going there for years and the staff really go out of their way to accommodate them and their mobility issues and it warms my heart to see such kind people♡ The salad bar is amazing and their steaks and salmon were perfect ?

Some of the best prime rib in the triangle but if you like other steaks, those are good as well! I love the salad bar and the endless amounts of toppings (smoked oysters!). The restaurant is a bit dated but that's always part of the charm and a testament to its longevity. The Peddler has been doing it right for a while. This is one of the consistently great restaurants in the area and we always love it when we go. The staff has always been very friendly.

Hosted a Bachelor Party Dinner. Be prepared to wait as the line forms before the doors open.
One gets to see their steak cut right at the table before it’s prepared.Outstanding salad bar.
