Cool spot. Food was great and they have tons of TVs, great place to catch a game. Watched some baseball there but will def be back for football season.

Our first trip to The Pickled Onion was quite disappointing. I ordered the seared tuna sandwich with sweet potato fries and a draft beer. The sandwich was bland and the fries were cold but the beer was good. My husband ordered the chicken wrap with chips and a draft beer. The chips were good but the wrap didn't have much flavor. Also his beer wasn't cold. He walked up to the bar to ask for ice, and the excuse was they just got the keg delivered and hadn't had a chance to cool. I'm hoping that all these issues were due to the restaurant opening recently, and that they will work out the kinks, refine the recipes, and serve only cold beer. We will give them another chance in a while to see if they have improved. We were regulars at the former restaurant, Village Grill, and we were hoping to become regulars here too. We shall see.

The Chicago beef was slimy and tasteless. The loaded baked potato was also gross. The bacon was slimy and the potato itself was super dry. Only good news was the ranch dressing was good.

Good food, cold beer, good drinks, great price, and great live singer for Friday night. We also loved that it's open late and the service was very fast. We will definitely be going back!

Absolutely amazing restaurant. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Very highly recommended!

Unfortunately, the food was terrible, small portions, poor quality, and it actually made us feel sick afterward. The atmosphere felt completely out of place for Lafayette Village, with harsh lighting, odd color choices, and an overwhelming number of TVs, they really doubled down on the sports bar aesthetic rather than a restaurant. To top it off, they’ve added a 3% credit card surcharge, essentially passing all their fees onto customers, or worse, likely profiting from since most cards charge restaurants less than 3%. Disappointing all around.

Went Tuesday evening- had such a great time. Every single person working was on point and so helpful. The kitchen got our food out quickly, and everything was perfect. Mark made me the best mermaid cocktail I’ve ever had- very refreshing. Great recommendation during this heatwave!!!!

Atmosphere, food, and service are wonderful. The vibe is completely positive, with great staff who really seem to love their work. Do yourself a favor and check it out.

Just had an amazing experience at this new spot…everything from the food to the service was top notch. Jordan, CJ, Jonas, and Mark were all on point with their service…attentive, friendly, and professional. Chrissy, the GM, is clearly running a tight (and very impressive) ship.

The fish and chips were perfectly cooked…crispy, hot, and full of flavor. We ended the meal by sharing the turtle New York cheesecake, and let’s just say… I’ll be dreaming about it for a long time. This place is a must-try!

Huge shoutout to The Pickled Onion & their new location in Lafayette Village! 10/10 recommend checking them out :)

(Long story ahead!) For some context, my boyfriend and I were looking for a new close spot for dinner tonight and came across The Pickled Onion on Apple maps. We hadn’t heard of it before, so we decided to check it out… only to discover once we got there they were seemingly closed for a private event. We almost turned around, but a super friendly guy at the door waved us in and welcomed us like we were meant to be there. Welllll…. Turns out that guy was the owner, Greg! He explained they weren’t officially open yet and this was a soft opening for invited guests. But instead of turning us away, he insisted we stay - treated us to dinner and drinks, gave us some fun merch, and made us feel right at home. it was seriously such a kind thing to do and was so unexpected.

The food was super good - the shrimp tacos hit the spot (pic below), and my boyfriend’s burger was gone in seconds- and the whole vibe of the place was upbeat and welcoming. The staff were all lovely, and the space had a great energy. It’s also worth noting that (although we didn’t pay for our food this time), the prices were all very reasonable and more than worth it for the quality of the food. I don’t usually expect a lot food-wise from sports bar type restaurants but I was genuinely so impressed!!!

We’ll definitely be back once they officially open, and if this night was any indication, The Pickled Onion is going to be one of our favorites for a while to come!!! Huge thanks again to Greg and the team for their generosity and hospitality - what a wonderful evening that made for the highlight of our week!!!
