Stopped in here to get bar food and watch the Bears game and no kidding these are the best fresh cut fries I’ve ever had (and I’m a fry snob). Food was amazing. Service was great. Server graciously reminded us (2) that we might want to get our order in before the big group that just walked in. Not many people are that thoughtful. And the owner is a Browns fan! So few of us left.

Parking was obscenely expensive and predatory. $90 charge. Tobacco road was supposed to provide validation for parking but did not.

I was there Friday Evening 22Aug2025 only for drinks. The place only had about 15 patrons. After sitting at the bar and having to move the dishes and drinks out of our way, we waited 20 minutes until our bartender shows up. I ask for a kolch sample. She pours one and disappears for another 10 minutes. Shows back up. Pours my drink last even though I was first to order. Takes my card. Leaves it stuck in the machine for another 15 minutes before having to remind her. Good luck cashing out since she was MIA. She clearly was distracted with something in the kitchen. Horrible service. I still tipped 20% but never again.

This place has really gone down hill. The food was mediocre (the bun on my sandwich was rock hard), the draft beer tasted like it had been sitting on tap for months, service was slow even though there were only about twelve people in the entire restaurant including us on a Friday night. No soap in the bathroom, notified staff, they didn’t fix the issue in the almost 5 hours we were there. They charge a 3% surcharge for credit cards which is absolute robbery. We had no choice but to tip 20% even though the bar was deathly slow (we had a large group so I understand this is standard, but unfortunate when service is slow).

I guess I just had a bad experience compared to the majority. My food took 25 minutes to get to me despite being the only person in the place. The food had definitely been sitting out for a while, noted by the soggy fries and ketchup with sludge topping. The service was bad. The drinks were just ok. Half of them were no working. The bar seats were hard. Just not impressed at all.

I ordered some wings for takeout this evening, which were great as was the service. The female bartender I’m sorry I didn’t get her name was friendly and on point. She was so kind that I wish I had ordered in and had a beverage, but look forward to doing that in the future. We need more spots like this in downtown Raleigh keep up the good work and thanks for being a good neighbor!!!

Love this place! The bartender Brookelyn is an absolute delight. She’s friendly, hilarious, and super attentive. We will always come back as long as she’s here.

It was okay. We went on a Sunday at right around noon. Only one server was present and taking orders/ serving guests. They weren’t warm, friendly, or welcoming and certainly weren’t attentive. The food was good and the atmosphere was fine- more so what I would expect from a dive bar and not what I would have expected from Tobacco Road having been to the Durham location.

Great local beer, good food, and exceptional service especially by our server Jackie (knew the menu and all the drink options inside and out and was very personable)
