Unique flavors but don't taste all that good. Apple cider sorbet tastes like apple sauce. Blackberry hibiscus has too much creamy taste and not enough of either said flavor in name.

Our posse of three stopped at the Ice Cream parlor at Person Street . . . Line was short, walked up and ordered the large milkshake, ( Only 1 size milkshake) strawberry ? with chocolate hot fudge. Great thirst quencher on a sunny afternoon! My compatriots were satisfied with one scoop kiddie cups. (Watching their waste lines, I guess? )
The flavors were beyond the pedestrian coffee, mint chip , and vanilla of most ice cream places . . . Such as:
Blackberry Hibiscus
Sola Cinnamon Donut
Sea Salt Chip Cookie Dough
Coffee Bourbon
Strawberry & Honey
We all agreed, bold zesty flavors with fresh ingredients! I guess we’ll return and try new flavors as they rotate new ones each month.
My research revealed local Channel 5 tv station WRAL -TV has awarded 2 Roosters four times with “ BEST Ice Cream” ! Also USA Today named 2 Roosters “ BEST ice cream” twice, in 2019 & 2023!
Granny would be proud of owner Jared Plummer ! Thanks for quality ice cream in the Triangle area !?????
Suggestion: Let’s get Granny up on the wall, and add outdoor seating at your Person Street location , if possible?
Note: Some ice cream flavors made with wheat, therefore not Gluten Free. Also some flavors have nuts, would be helpful if flavors labeled for customers with allergies?

They have a wide variety of flavors for you to choose from! This is a very cool ice cream shop! Love trying their monthly special favors!
Kid-friendliness: There are always so many kids there so definitely bring your kids for an ice cream date ;);) plenty of space to sit outside!

I bought a egift card as a surprise for my cousin’s birthday but since I live in Atlanta and she lives in Raleigh I needed the staff to make the surprise happen! They were so nice and made sure exactly what I said was written on the card. I told my cousin the address and nothing else, not even the name. The gift card was waiting and she picked out three pints of their special flavors to take home. She raved about how good they were, that it’s worth the drive AND she will definitely go back! Great staff and amazing ice cream, a winning combination!

Great service, wish the ice cream had more flavor! Was a little icey, like it had been melted and refrozen.
Delicious dairy free ice cream options! I loved the dairy free Christmas cookie flavor which is seasonal! (Also gluten free cookie!) Kiddo enjoyed the dark chocolate mint flavor!!
Parking: Parking is awfu though, had to park in neighborhood two blocks away. Paid lot across the street but even that was full.

We tried banana walnut and chocolate icecreams.
The choclate was not at all tasting like it, it tasted like some chemicals.
Banana walnut was average

This place has great staff who offer samples to every customer. They have a rotating flavor menu so there’s always something new. They have lovely outdoor seating. There is usually a line but it goes quickly. Unfortunately the ice cream itself is not very good. On the multiple occasions I’ve been here, I’ve only liked my ice cream once. I often find the flavors to be bland. Or they are trying new combinations of flavors that really don’t work. Sadly I will not be coming back because the ice cream is so disappointing.

One of my favorite ice cream places to visit in downtown Raleigh. Can't wait for another banana flavor to release as a seasonal flavor!

The ice cream is very tasty here. I like that I was able to sample to ensure I got what I liked. The waffle cone was a nice addition as an option.

Best ice cream in the city ?
Every person ahead of me had a packed down pint. When it was our turn and it was the end of the bucket ours was not. Y’all should weigh it so we get what we paid for. It’s $10 a pint for decent at best ice cream.
One of the very few places to be so quick to be accommodating for food allergies. Super nice staff and such good ice cream!
Dietary restrictions: I am allergic to nuts, so it’s very hard to eat hard serve ice cream without cross contamination. This place was very understanding, very safe about it, and extremely helpful.
