The food is excellent and the service is second to none. The ambience is very homey and all the staff make you feel so welcome. This place is my favorite in Raleigh, NC

I used to go here often before Covid, We were having a family reunion of sorts, a party of 13 and I regrettably suggested this restaurant. The service was poor and the food not much better. After taking our order our server was barely seen again. I had the tuna salad, the tuna was raw, completely, and warm as was the wilted salad under it. My sister had the special Mahi Mahi which was so overcooked and dried out I would compare it to a brick of straw. Conditions I attribute to the poor service and the probability of food staying under a warmer for way too long. I guess she thought she got the auto 18% so she didn't have to provide decent service. Very disappointed and will not return.

Vegetarians alert! This place has great options. The vegetarian pasta and stir fry are fantastic! Some minor criticisms however. Overall this is great operation with a variety of options. If you're vegetarian make sure you ask for the separate menu as there really aren't any options on the main menu. Why? I have no idea. Makes it feel like an after thought when in reality it was well thought out with decent options. As vegetarians come to this restaurant, they will feel slighted as the menu is never offered. You get seated with a carnivore menu and that's it. It's 2024, every decent restaurant should be offering vegetarian options... and it took Winston's a while but eventually they got the memo. But c'mon integrate it with the main menu. Plenty of non-vegetarians like to see their plant-based options as well. Not every omnivore eats meat every meal any more. This restaurant is selling itself short by not making these options more widely know. You deserve more credit for the thought that went into these options! Last criticism is the plastic straws - one of the largest pollutants on our planet. You get a plastic straw whether or not you ask for it. If management doesn't want to opt for environmentally friendly straws at least let people choose the plastic straw rather than force it on people. Otherwise no complaints. A lovely atmosphere, quality food, good service. I'll be back.

Didn't really hate it. However, there's no medium option. We intended to go for lunch Saturday and found out they don't open until 4:00 on Saturday

Son and friends got food poisoning there this past weekend. Emailed the restaurant and had to call two days later to inform them. Pretty disappointing since the food poisoning happened Prom night.

I have not eaten here in about a year. The food and service was good. The Restaurant was dirty with dust on the molding and the carpet had a bad smell. The Bathroom looked and smelt as it had not been cleaned in days.

Food: 4 Service: 5 Ambience: 4.5 Order: Cajun Chicken sandwich, fries Date/Time: 3/14/2024 6:30pm Crowd: 1/2 full Haven't been here for many years. Decided to try it again as it was once an expensive place with steaks, etc. With the name change to add "Grille" it has more sandwich/burger selections, along with steaks, but still on the high side. The service was excellent with great attentiveness, checking back often and refilling drinks. Very friendly and approachable. The Cajun Chicken burger was good with a little bit of spice to it but nothing on the fries. Overall a good experience and would recommend it.

No pics this time... I made the huge mistake of sitting at the half-round bar in front of the kitchen...I saw everything being prepared, plated and prepped, then whooshed away to waiting tables and patrons. Wow, what a great experience, and there was no way I had room in my stomach for everything that looked so good! I had the soup of the day, chicken/thick/mushroom, so good! The pasta special was chicken, rigatoni, mushrooms, tomatoes, lovely gray sauce (almost like the soup), and a sriracha sauce. I got the sauce on the side but it wasn't too hot. Food was awesome! The staff worked magic together, so much precision in their cooperation and movements, and friendly! Service was excellent. And the bread, get the bread rolls! I'll be back! Thank you!

My friend and I went to Winston Grille on a Tuesday in March. Winston Grille always has a nice atmosphere. Our waitress was Diane and provided superb service sharing their specials and making recommendations. She always checked on us on food and beverage. She suggested the pork shank with grits instead of mash potatoes. The shank was tender I just didn’t like the peppercorn specs of season so I removed them. The grits were tasty for a change. Thanks Diane!
