I have eaten at all the Italian Restaurants in Rocky Mount and surrounding area. This place has the smallest potions and at the highest cost. I paid around $13 to $14 dollars for what was suppose to be a large salad. It was served to go in a 5 inch aluminum bowl. The manager refunded my money and told me next time to ask for him. I told him I shouldn’t have to ask for someone special to get adequate portions. I ordered a steak sub. There was literally not enough steak for even 1/2 the sandwich. The meat was only about an inch wide and 1/2” tall on a 4 inch bun. Both sides were an 1 inch from each end. It was the saddest most expensive experience I’ve had. I will NEVER go back and I eat out every meal and never cook. So, I think I have had enough take out food in my 62 years to be an accurate judge of food serving portions. Very sad and disheartening experience.

so, Ima old guy been going to Italian pizzeria for over 30 years . Luigi, and his mother, father and sister, the founders of the restaurant, was in Tarrytown Mall in rocky mount NC.I do believe Luigi had a cousin Daneto who ran one in Raleigh, I've just got to say the pizza is STILL perfect and MY God, the two extra large I ordered last night was made with LOVE. THANK YOU ARMANO's! Please keep up the awesome work!!

I just moved to Rocky mount from NJ and hands down ever since I have been here I have ordered this pizza once a week sometime even twice a week or stop in just for a slice because this pizza is beyond authentic and I have never went back to any other franchise since I've had this pizza! Hands down the best in Rocky mount !!! Lol by now when they ask for a name and I say "meeka" they know and the staff omg I love the young lady that is always in the front she is beyond amazing and they make you so comfortable to just even sit in their establishment!!! Truly the best pizza I've had since I was in NJ !!! Wish I could give you guys more stars!!!!

When I moved from Upstate New York to Rocky Mount in 2007, I immediately went on a search for a pie that could compete with what I grew up with - and the Italian Pizzeria New York Style delivered. While working in the local hospitality business, over the years, I sent countless customers looking for a casual dinner there.
Since I moved in 2014, I have had to suffer (not really an exaggeration) with the occasional mediocre chain-store pizza in my life. Whenever I get to visit Rocky Mount (most recently last week), a stop by what is now Amano's is a "must do" and they still continue to provide the closest thing I've found to a New York pizza (if not better than I remember) in the area. This time, I picked up a White Pizza (with broccoli - try it!), Stromboli, and an Antipasto with their housemade oil/vinegar & ranch dressings and treated my local friends to a "New York dinner night." Not only did they devour it, but they've been running their mouths about it to their co-workers since. [I shamed them for taking the availability of their fantastic locally owned eateries for granted.]
P.S. - which really shouldn't be a post script: the service was phenomenal which isn't something one can usually fully experience or comment on when simply placing an order for take-out. Top notch visit all around - thank you!

The food is amazing, but Sarah is the hidden gem that makes the place AMAZING. She’s super friendly and excellent at her job. They are very lucky to have her.
