Gardner's Barbecue Sunset Ave at Westridge Shopping Center

Our food was horrible. It took several minutes to place the order. Pork bbq sandwich had very little slaw. The turkey bbq platter had so much slaw it ran out of the container and the bag. The turkey bbq had no seasoning, no flavor. We couldn’t tell if it was pork or turkey. My Mother ate a few bites but immediately regretted it. She got sick. The new hush puppies are awful. What happened to the rings? We’re were so looking forward to eating at one of our favorite restaurants when we’re back home but it was an expensive bust!! So disappointed. I stopped going to the 301 location because it became so cheaply managed. Now this…..the quality of the food has really gone down.

The bbq was dry. Fries refried. Chicken half cold. Slaw good. Tea good. No condiments. Wont waste my money again. And staff not friendly. I guess no one from Gardners checks on their restaurants. I should have known when no one was in the restaurant sat at lunch.

Traveling north on I 95...saw the sign and came to restaurant on sunset. Needed to use restroom before ordering. I was informed that they have no public restrooms. I said I need to use before ordering and was still told no. I googled NC law and it clearly states restaurants are required to have restrooms available for customers. I am very upset....3 miles off the hwy and this.....I'll take my business elsewhere.

First time eating here. Told cashier it was first time, expecting good food. My wife got pulled pork sandwich, which was good, she said. I ordered chicken sandwich. Thought I was getting a pulled chicken, NOPE. I got a deep fried bone in chicken thigh on a bun. No BBQ Sauce, no butter, not a condiment of any kind. I could not believe it. What kind of place sells BBQ and gives you fried chicken. Gawd dang.

There was one lady working the drive thru, front counter and bagging the orders for customers and she did a tremendous job. She should be well rewarded for doing three people jobs.

I ordered to for convenience and the food was not ready. They did not have majority of my order and they were rude. I paid $30 for extra sides and did not receive any apology or refund for paying extra online. Sunset Rocky Mount, NC sucks.

Great service and food. Employees were nice and professional, and the food was hot and delicious. Shaun was extremely attentive and made sure that our order was correct.

I cannot believe this restaurant has stayed in business. The service was slow, the sandwich had very little meat and my order was wrong. To top it off, the bathroom was horrendous.

I've eaten my way through NC BBQ joints from the mountains to the coast. I smoked more butts than I can rember, but this place has lowered the bar. I can usually tolerate dirty tables, a sassy cashier or even dry Q, but this place hit the trifecta today. Keep driving and maybe hit up McCalls, Wilbers or Parkers for some authentic ENC BBQ with a side service and atmosphere.

Bought a large pastry plus more pastry on a plate in October. It was so salty and watery it was ridiculous! I called back, mgr offered to replace it, went back yesterday to get it again, just as horribly salty! Its no way to cook or managers are sampling this food! Even the replacement was horrible! I wont go back

Ok WOW! What a gem of a southern food restaurant in Rocky Mount this Gardners location is! Jadan was such a breath of fresh air as she took my order. Amazing customer service skills and kindness that I rarely see anymore! The service was also fast and delicious ?. The manager Tanja is a sweet soul who really cares about her restaurant, customers and employees and treats you like you are home for a visit! Was honored to meet her and see her interactions.So if you are looking for great food in a great location with a no drama atmosphere and you are treated like family this is your place in Rocky Mount! OH and they have a drive through which is super convenient!
