Lilyanne's Steakhouse house not opened as of November 9th, 2024. Any reviews before this are for Texas Steakhouse which is connected to a hotel near the address for Lilyanne's Steakhouse.
Service was very slow. It took 20 minutes just to take our order. Another 10 minutes for me to get my draft beer, which by the way was way to expensive for a beer. Since the prices aren’t on the menu and the servers don’t know the prices, I took a chance with the beer thinking it was about 5 or 6 bucks. It was &8.00 each. The rib eye had a good flavor but was served to me at room temperature and I had to send it back. I ordered another beer and waited. The second beer took another 10 minutes. Finally the heated up steak came back and it wasn’t much hotter. We are disappointed to say the least. They forgot my husband’s soup so we had to tell her to remove it from the check. I didn’t bother getting a manager. We were too tired to deal with it after a nine hour drive from Ohio. Slow and inefficient service.
We ate dinner here in March 2023 since we were staying at the Doubletree Hotel for a volleyball tournament. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I’ve had in a long time. The staff was completely incompetent. We waited over 45 mins to receive our food after ordering. When our food arrived, my steak was not good, the lettuce in my salad was not fresh, my wife’s salmon was over cooked, and our waitress couldn’t get anything right. We actually expressed our concerns to the manager, but nothing was offered to improve our experience. I would not recommend this restaurant.
The wait for a table was 15-20 minutes and there were a lot of empty tables. Once we ordered, we waited more than 20 more minutes and saw other tables served their food who were seated after us. Food was good but we had to ask for bread and noticed it was brought to tables around us when provided their salad. I just hope the kitchen was cleaner than the women’s restroom. I would not have eaten here if I had gone into the restroom first.
About two years ago, we stopped at the Texas Steakhouse when we stayed at the Double tree Hotel. The restaurant is part of the hotel. We enjoyed our meal then and we enjoyed our meal now. On this trip, we ordered the Sirloin Tips and the Marshall Dillon Ribeye Steak. Both meals were very good. Each entree was served with a choice of two sides. We ordered the potato soup and seasoned asparagus with the sirloin tips and the potato soup and the Caesar Salad with the Marshall Dillon Ribeye. Additionally, the Marshall Dillon special included a skewer of five shrimp. The potato soup was thick and tasty. The asparagus was lightly seasoned. The Caesar Salad was plentiful. The shrimp was nicely breaded, firm, and cooked perfectly. Our server was very good. The restaurant was very clean. We observed the staff thoroughly cleaning the tables. The restaurant is located in the Gateway Plaza and is very convenient to the hotels, about eight, located at the Plaza. All the hotels are within walking distance. The farthest hotel is a few hundred feet from the restaurant.
Staff friendly. Food poor. steak over cooked, salad entree mostly lettuce, ribs OK, loaded potato soup had three slices of under cooked potato in it, one sliver of onion, a little broth, and the rest was a solid layer of gooey cheese. Tables left un-bussed with spilled food on floor. Tables unstable. Breakfast was worse. Coffee cold in dispensers, waffle maker needed an attendant, who forgot about it, awful frozen omelets, meats cold, and at $12, not any kind of value.. Breakfast attendant seemed to be in another world. Find another place to spend your money! Only ate there as it was attached to our hotel and we were unfamiliar with the area.
Very slow service from the moment we walked in. While our server was friendly, the appetizer came out before we had drinks or even plates to use for the food. The food itself was mediocre and someone was yelling and cursing in the kitchen loud enough that we could hear. It was surprising how poor the overall experience was based on others' reviews.
The worst "hotel" breakfast I have endured. Eggs tasted like soap and were dry. Pans of sausage were prepared likely hours before and dry as well. Think tiny little brown bricks left by dogs that sit for some days. Yes, that bad. Biscuits were dry bricks, croissants were burned. Milk and juice came from containers that needed the lid manually removed. Everyone before you touches the lid, and everyone before you washes their hands, right? Right... Even the worst hotel breakfasts I've endured beat this hands down. Avoid this place. The ladies running it were nice enough, this isn't a review of them.

This was the place my wife and I could walk to from where we were staying, and we weren't disappointed, despite a long wait to get in. She got the ribeye, which had some problems; they worked so hard to get grill marks on one side that the other side was not cooked at all, and it wasn't well trimmed, with a lot of connective tissue within. I wasn't feeling very steak-like so I got the Bull of Brazo, essentially a swiss steak. It was actually quite good. However, the mushrooms from each dish were likely from a big commercial can and lacked any seasoning. On the other hand, sides were good, the salads were excellent, and the drinks were fantastic. Also, it has a very patriotic theme, offered discounts to service members and vets, and was immaculately clean with a staff that is working very hard. I bet their sandwiches are fantastic and would go back for them.
We stayed for 3 nights and used the Texas Steakhouse for all 3 of our meals. They took custom orders and helped us with Covid safety by boxing all meals and for dinner serving us in a separate banquet room. Excellent service and our u14 girls team enjoyed all 3 meals. Huge time saver and kept us on budget.
My sister and I were traveling to New York from Florida and stopped in Rocky Mount for the night. We had originally planned to have dinner at Outback but the wait was too long. We were very happy that it was because we went across the parking lot to the Texas Steakhouse & Saloon instead and had a great meal. We were greeted by a lovely hostess named Robin. (There was a young man helping her but we didn’t get his name). They were both very nice - professional, friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was also wonderful, Shy. We started with the onion chips. Better tasting than a bloomin’ onion and without the grease. We both had burgers that were cooked to the perfect temp that we ordered. Both were too big to finish and we really enjoyed them. Outback burgers are very good but they’ve got nothing on Texas Steakhouse. We looked for one of their other locations on our trip back to Florida but the timing didn’t work out. I hope they expand to Florida someday soon.
Texas Steakhouse in Rocky Mount NC deserves a ZERO star rating !!! A group of us at work ordered five lunches from them on Sunday, June 21 2020. I ordered the Texas Signature Salad with fried chicken. The lettuce was brown, the chicken was dry and the portion was almost nonexistent and the size of the salad was only slightly larger than a side salad. Other members of our group also received inadequate food. I called the restaurant to complain. The manager I spoke with was very defensive and requested that we bring the entrees in so she could see them and determine if she thought a refund was appropriate. Since we only have 30-minutes for lunch I informed her that was not possible. When I got off work at 7pm I took my salad to the restaurant. I spoke with the manager on duty. After she called the manager I spoke with on the phone, I finally received my refund. Not only was the food intolerable, the customer service from the manger I spoke to on the phone was very unprofessional. I can guarantee I will NEVER give Texas Steakhouse my business again.
The food was great but if before you order a steak be sure you have access to a steak knife as plastic just didn't cut it even the rare and medium rare we ordered. We were guests at a hotel and walked over and picked it up. The salad, potato and rolls were fine with plastic utensils but the steak was a unique challenge. Felt like a cave man.
