I had the chance to taste bakery items from Tastee Creations yesterday. Myself and some friends were traveling and stop in Rocky Mount to go to Smith's Red and White and one of my friends inquired about the bakery next door. Unfortunately, they were busy with a bulk order and weren't taking orders or customers at that time but the staff indicated their baked goods were also sold at Smith's. I bought a sweet potato snack cake and a mini pecan pie. I didn't try to items until I got back home in Virginia and was mad at myself because if I knew they were going to be that good I would have bought MORE. The sweet potato snack cake was moist and flavorful with the right amount of spice and the pecan pie had a tender crust, was full of nuts and not too sweet. I will make a point to stop by Tastee Bakery Creations the next time I am in the area. Check them out.

We made our annual visit to Smith's Red & White yesterday. We always try to pick up some of the Famous Country Sausage but always have to visit the bakery area of the store while there! I have never purchased anything out of this bakery that was bad. I love their Coconut Cake and it is even better because you can purchase it by the slice or half cake!This visit we decided to try their muffins. The Sweet Potato Muffins and the Harvest Muffins looked wonderfully delicious! It seemed to have our names written all over it so that is what we bought.We had the Harvest Muffins for breakfast this morning and it did not disappoint us! There were tender flakes of coconut along with nuts and a myriad of spices mixed throughout. It did not disappoint us at all!Tomorrow will be the Sweet Potato Muffins!

I happened to go in piggly wiggly in Greenville this morning and saw a banana nut muffin made by tastee creations. the. best I ever had. will be supporting you in the future.

I was a little surprised upon entering this tiny bakery. I'm not local to the area and didn't read the reviews. I was hoping for a showcase with donuts and other treats but what I found was a VERY small area at the front of the store where you can pick out cupcakes, cake slices, pies, cobblers and loaf sized sweet breads. There was also a book where you can choose cakes to be ordered. Service was friendly and after looking around, I chose a prepackaged chocolate cake slice and a sweet potato loaf. The cake was tasty. A bit dense but still quite good because I'm used to dense cake. I grew up in a town where all the local home bakers made this type of cake for church suppers. They have a shipping program as well for those who live afar but have come to enjoy their treats. I think this would be a place I would order birthday cakes and such if I lived local. Check it out and see what you think.

My favorite place to pre-order or purchase a cake for any celebration. The hard part is deciding between all the incredible flavors of icing and cake. Don't miss Smith's Grocery Store while there to pick up your cake! Amazing! I drive 50 minutes each way just to buy from these two stores!

I was doubtful when I saw "home of the world's best caramel cake" written on the door. But, Ms. Hazel knows her product! The cake looked delicious but I got the cupcakes (more frosting). The cupcakes were light and fluffy and the frosting I could eat by itself!
