Me and my wife go in this place for breakfast this morning and seat down waiting on our waitress to get our drink order instead she comes over and says they have alot of to go orders it will be 40 mins while you have another waitress taken food orders next to us . It's always something with this place. Last time going in there.

College Barbecue has been one of my favorite area restaurants for my entire life. I’ve utilized their food for holidays, special occasions and even catering for different work events through the years. Not saying I’m done with the restaurant or anything but it really seems they are struggling after my last few visits. Most recently I waited in an empty drive through for much longer than I should have to order a foot-long and a large fry. The foot long was decent but the fries were low key warm at best and barely edible. They tasted like oil that should have been replaced a day or so ago. What really upset me was after forgetting to ask for ranch dressing I was told that a small cup of ranch dressing would be 85 cents. Keep in mind that cup of ranch dressing is actually a very few ounces and was to be used for the 10 dollars worth of food I ordered. I know food prices have increased but that seems a little ridiculous. I have stopped frequenting restaurants in the past for charging for condiments, it just seems like a poor business practice to me. I really do hate to complain but it feels like restaurants in general are going with practices like this- I guess I should just start eating at home more. Apologies for the less than stellar review- still love you guys.

Service was great. Pork is tender and prepared well. Far from generous with the hush puppies. Barbecue sauce was weak, no zip.

We enjoyed the pulled pork, hush puppies, slaw, a breakfast spread with eggs, bacon, potatoes hash, pancakes, and a hot dog - Carolina style. Restaurants was packed full on a Sunday at 10:30 AM. No wait, really friendly staff, clean area & restrooms. Sweet tea was on-point. Prices very reasonable. Eastern Carolina Vinegar BBQ 'Sauce' was delicious, with a sweet vinegar heat, perfectly balanced for the pulled pork.
This is the BEST bbq I have had in YEARS. I’m a very picky eater and rarely do reviews but let me tell you this is a hidden gem and cheaper than fast food. UNREAL wonderful service

Tuesday 8/5 10am. Restaurant full. Three tables had food. Nothing on the grill. To go orders going out. Drive thru perhaps is quicker as I kept hearing the dinger. Waiting 35 minutes for breakfast was my limit so we left. They did give us a free coffee but no apologies. Zero Stars!

from Hickory, North Carolina took my husband to the VA hospital here in Salisbury while I was waiting. I thought I’d go around the corner and get something to eat so first time visit even though it was a barbecue place I was in the mood for a burger. got the A1 burger, and onion rings. Onion rings are fabulous. Burger was delicious. Can’t wait to come back next month for my husband‘s VA appointment to try something different.!!
