“My friend introduced me to their coffee months ago when she gifted me with bags of their coffee for Christmas. My husband and I were immediately hooked. We have now tried about 5 different blends and they're all so good.

Yesterday, we finally made it 2 hours away to visit them in person. We ordered drinks and bought 3 bags of coffee. Everything was perfect. We have decided we'll make the trip every couple of months for our coffee supply.

They are insanely busy (we did go on a Saturday morning). I don't think I've ever waited in line so long at a coffee shop but it's worth it.

“I was camping at a nearby campground and googled a local restaurant. Google recommend several restaurants in the area, one them was the Round About Grill. This is an amazing little restaurant that has been hiding in plain view. The food is incredible and fresh. The restaurant has a home town feeling that is welcoming. Very friendly staff that speaks to you like they have known you forever. Most importantly, it is clean and smells incredible. Don't let the exterior fool you. highly recommend!”

“I grew up in Salisbury and lived there well into my adulthood. I live in Columbia, SC now but when I come back to town to visit my Mom, one of my favorite places to eat is at Checkered Flag. They’re food is really good but the hard working ladies who serve the customers is what makes it great. They take the time to talk to every customer at every table and it’s not just chit chat. They really want to know how you are and what they can do for you to make your visit perfect. They treat everyone like family but for those of us who come back again and again, we become family. Even for me, an out of towner, I even know two of the hard working ladies, Angela and Jen. Angela showed her hard working team spirit yesterday when, Jen, our server, was tied up with her other tables. Angela stepped in and took our order until Jen could get back over to us. This example of teamwork becomes contagious and I’m sure that Jen has done the same thing for Angela and all of her co-workers. Jen is such a joy to be around. Her personality oozes charisma and warmth and she makes you feel truly special because that is who she is!! I heartily recommend Checkered Flag for their great food and and their even greater people!! I rate them 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and 5 hearts!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️”

The woman taking my order was beyond great in customer service skills. She was friendly, cheerful, and thorough about making sure she got my order correctly. She used the “suggestive selling” which is so great for a business. I intentionally asked her name in order to name her in this review. Sondra, thank you! My food was also received in a timely manner and was fresh. Seems like the manager of this establishment is doing a great job to have such a great crew.”

“$10!!! $10!!! $10!!! For the lunch buffet, not including drink (their unsweetened tea is so good). When you walk in, the atmosphere is nothing to brag about... its just three little tables and the buffet space. Off to one side is a doorway that leads to another room full of tables and chairs. They have plenty of space. Decent, older (60's/70's) music was playing in the background. The bathrooms are clean and smell ok. The restaurant is clean overall, but could seriously use an update.
The service was good. Two ladies were running the place and they kept my tea glass full. If you order a soft drink, it comes in a can and they are off-brand. When you're finished with one plate, they remove it quickly so the table stays clear. They were really on point and very friendly.
The food. Well. We came late to the party and that's apparently not the thing to do. They open at 11 (close at 3). We got there at 1:45 and a lot of things had been picked over and were already drying out. The two pizza choices (pepperoni and cheese) were so dried out that I would not even try them. The salad bar still looked fresh and the lasagne was out of this world. The spaghetti and meat sauce was delicious. Their meatballs, while small and a little squishy (definitely not homemade) were also pretty tasty. There was a chicken dish that I dove to the bottom to find a piece still covered in sauce and that was decent. They had another meat dish that I tried to find a piece that wasn't dried out and couldn't so I didn't. They also have mixed veggies on the hot bar that were not over cooked. Again, the salad var, while not very expansive, was fresh and very good. There was also a minestrone soup which we did not try.
For the $10, go early! We're definitely going back! They also have a dinner menu, but I'm not sure they're operating that atthe moment. Would definitely recommend this spot if you can eat earlier sorat least by noonish.”

DJ's is just a few minutes down the road and very easy to get to. As soon as you walk in you can tell it's a fun place. They have a great looking bar area with a stage for live performances, or possibly Karaoke. We were seated quickly and decided on just a quick dinner. My wife ordered the Shrimp entree along with the mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli. She loved it! Especially the broccoli, which was more steamed and roasted. I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki with is more of a pita wrap. It tasted great! The service was excellent and quick. We were so glad to have found DJ's!”
