Massimo's Artisan Sandwich shoppe

Just ordered on DoorDash from here, it was my first time trying it. I got the hotel California wrap, bean and corn salad and a dark roast iced coffee. All 3 items are a 10/10! Can’t wait to try more!!!!

Ate a "Strange Magic BLT" and for 14 dollars, it was a bit too strange for me. The avocado spread had a bitter, disgusting taste. The lettuce was very wilty. The bacon microwaved. Before it used to be made with care but who knows. It's 2025. Every place has went downhill in Rowan County. Massimo's used to be an institution of decent sandwiches. They don't care anymore. Make yourself a BLT at home.

Edit: I don't know who made the workers upset today but this totally changed my view on Massimo's. I don't know what I just bit into but the there was nothing magical, just something strange in my BLT.

Old: Great little sandwich shop(pe). I always get the Strange Magic BLT. Never been disappointed. Great pickles (usually). Can't ask for more.

Pretty typical sandwich shop. We came in for the soup and sandwich of the day at 1pm and they were already sold out.

Over food was good. Service was quick.

The best sandwiches and homemade soups around! Owners and staff are very welcoming and service is very fast, even during the busiest lunch hour.

Friendly enough staff. Whimsical names for their sandwiches, which were exceptional! We did take out, so we didn't get to really experience the atmosphere other than to go in, place an order, and leave with our food. Recognizing that limitation, though, the atmosphere felt less than warm. Blessedly, the taste and quality of the food are enough to overwhelm the spartan feel of the interior.

So my daughter and I visited this place today and as we are eating our lunch the place was empty and in comes a middle aged man who walks up to the counter to place a to go order… our of no where the short older man who I’m assuming is the owner shouts something at the man and motions to the menu behind him, it was startling the way he shouted and the volume level. I told my daughter if I was the man ordering I would have left.. then he after receiving his food asked for napkins and the man behind the counter again pointed and very hastily said over there is everything. I felt terrible for the man. I don’t know what the owners issue was other than I think he was just in a hurry to leave. We have been there before around 1 pm and there has been a sign on the door that they are closed for the remainder of the day due to short stuff but who would even want to work for that man if that’s how he treats customers I can’t imagine how he is to the employees. The food there is good overall but this experience was unbelievable.
