Our monthly supper group, 8 of us, went to Newman’s at the Orchard Inn in Saluda tonight. We all agreed it was one of the best suppers we’ve had. It began when our waiter introduced himself - it was Chris, our favorite waiter from 131 Main - he has relocated! \n\nI had the grilled Caesar salad with white anchovies- delicious. \n\n2nd course was grilled shrimp w/ fried green tomato. My wife and I spent 2 nights at the Orchard Inn and had dinner 1 night in their in house restaurant, Newman’s. The venue and the view are really nice and we sat outside in a closed in space that was very pleasant. The wine list is very nice with a nice selection of most every wine along with local beers. Our recent visits to Newman's were a continuation of what is always a great experience. We have dined at Newman's numerous times and are never disappointed, We look forward to each visit and each experience seems to be better than the last one. Making a single selection from the alternatives for each course is always a challenging and difficult task, but an enjoyable one, New choices based on seasonal availability provide continuing variety.
