Food and service were excellent, as always. My husband and I usually try something different each visit. This time we had the pizza with sausage and mushrooms...very tasty. We shared a mango cheesecake for dessert. It was very good, but we highly recommend the tiramisu is you've never had it!

We love the vibe of the Onion, the live music has amazing variety and it offers a great dining music combo that is surprisingly hard to find. It's was a cold night and the Purple Onion was the perfect warm cozy venue. We split a crab au gratin app, a harvest salad with apples and Gorgonzola cheese, a bbq pork and pineapple pizza and a crème brûlée. Pretty perfect experience!

Loved the food and impressed with the service. I was mostly there to hear Michael Reno Harrell.. This was my fifth time hearing him, all at the Purple Onion. He did NOT disappoint. I came with a group of five. We all loved the entire evening.

We rented an ABNB in Saluda and chose the Purple Onion for our first night. Got there early and sat at the bar which was very cozy. The bartender, namely Mandy, was fantastic and made us feel right at home, like regulars. Based on that great experience we decided to have our meal at the bar as well. I had the Greek Salad and their special Blue Crab small plate - both were outstanding. My bride has the Mediterranean Salad - the best she ever had...... Highly recommend this establishment, a true gem in the “Mayberryish” Saluda.....kept thinking we would run into Andy and Barney.

Aaron BURDETT concert at the Purple Onion on Sunday was fantastic! The ambiance was positive and the audience treated the place like a listening room. And why not? Aaron, Kim on base and Lisa on banjo were such good performers, we all wanted to listen. Thank you to the Onion for bringing us such good music in Saluda! What a gem. ❤️

The Harvest soup was a delight - as was the Tabouleh salad - you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My bride was also quite happy with the crab dip.

While our visit to Purple Onion got off to a rocky start, the food made up for snafu. Based on other reviews, we knew there would be a wait for seating at this restaurant. But having our waitlist entry skipped/forgotten, and then questions about it dodged and deflected by the hostess, we weren’t as excited to be seated as we were when we’d first arrived. Thankfully, the food was as delicious as we had hoped. Each dish had the perfect balance of flavors, and the salmon melted in your mouth like butter. While the portion size wasn’t enormous, it was plenty. After sharing an appetizer, and enjoying our own an entrees, there was no room left for dessert. If you visit the Purple Onion, I’d recommend making reservations in advance, if possible.
The Purple Onion service is impeccable. New menu offerings keep things fresh. Always a treat to finish with Bourbon Pecan Pie or one of the other fantastic desserts.

The Purple Onion never disappoints. We eat there almost every time we are in Saluda and it is always fresh and delicious! The waitstaff is also excellent and the indoor and outdoor seating are both very nice.
