So I'm giving my review based on a consumer, as well as one of the local artists. This establishment is one of the best I have ever come across. I would highly suggest supporting local vs chain. Wayyyy better quality and service.
The couple that owns it is so sweet and is definitely there to help the artist grow.
Will always go back to the wakey monkey.
Worth every penny!!! Beautiful spot with books for kids while you wait for your order. Delicious breakfast and pastries. Great coffee too!!!
We stayed in Saluda for a few days and went to Wakey Monkey each morning. Their coffee was fresh and the homemade syrup flavors made it that much better. All of the baked goods were so tasty.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! Everyone here was so kind, the espresso was perfect, the apple tart & muffins were so good. Definitely give this place a try!!
Perfect iced oat milk latte, we also loved the chocolate cappuccino muffin and the breakfast sandwich.
Lovely store! Whenever I'm in the area I like to stop in and grab a latte and some of their baked goods! Always have something delicious here and recommend to anyone in the area!
Amazing food and atmosphere!!! Owners are amazing !! Highly recommend!
Excellent!! I had a moist & delicious gluten free muffin ( coconut pineapple) that the owner made herself! I so wanted to buy a couple more for the road but was afraid they wouldn’t make it home! My smoothie was so good as was my coffee & my daughter loved her caprese sandwich & hot cocoa. Can’t wait to go back & show this quaint spot to my husband!
Amazing coffee and super friendly staff! We already loved stopping in Saluda for lunch or to let the kids play in the park. One more reason to come into town, this cozy coffee spot will definitely be our new “go to”.
Super cute cafe with great food. I went for lunch had the chicken salad sandwich which was really good. They also have wonderful pastries, cookies and muffins. The space isn't large but they have plenty of seating for small groups of people. Owners and staff were super nice. Offers a great small town vibe.

I’ve been here couple times before and had a good experience however this visit was not pleasant .
I brought my own 12 oz cup and ordered
cappuccino with oat milk.
I was charged $6.25 which seemed quite expensive price considering normally a cappuccino is between $4.5 -
$5.5 max, even in pricey Santa Monica. So when I asked the cashier for the reason she said because we add an extra shot, I was wondering why?
Cappuccino should be with 2 shots anyway why would you charge extra?
It really bothered me and it didn’t sound right considering my friend ordered an Americano with two shots and was only charged $3.50.
The unpleasant part was the owner ‘s attitude when I asked about the pricing.
He mumbled something like I will have to check. His response never came.
I won’t come back and I don’t recommend.

Wakey Monkey never disappoints! They have incredible lattes and make their own syrups. The pastries are also amazing, I could eat a whole case of them apple tarts. Most importantly the owners and staff are the sweetest most caring people. Support local and try this place out!

Super friendly and kind staff. Beautiful space. Great coffee and drinks. For a sweet drink try anything with the honeybun flavoring. Open Sundays. Go visit Saluda. Even if you're just doing a pitstop between Asheville and Charlotte.
