We called to verify when the breakfast is served until and were told 1030am. We got in the car and arrived at 1005am on a Tuesday morning just a few minutes anfter calling. Upon walking in the owner said he’s closing down till lunch at 11. Disappointing that a small local business will turn away a four top especially when they are the only sit down breakfast restaurant in town.

What a gem! Really great food at reasonable prices. Fast and friendly service. We had the mushroom Swiss burger with the seasonal sweet potato casserole as a side. The sweet potato casserole was practically dessert! It was so good. You can really taste the brown sugar and the butter. The pecans were a delicious addition. (Worth noting if you have a nut allergy.) The fried chicken sandwich with French fries were also excellent. Served piping hot and really flavorful.

Ward's is the best place around for diner type food. Josh and his crew make sure that the food is great and the service is fast and friendly. No one should come within 100 miles of Saluda and not plan a stop at Ward's. You would be missing the best food and experience around!

This little restaurant was without a doubt the highlight of our trip. The friendly people that operate this place were AWESOME. The first time there we got lunch and enjoyed it so much we went back the next morning for breakfast. Great prices and the amount of food you get is unreal. We were seeking out a decent burger after apple picking and Ward's did not disappoint! Fresh and tasty food, generous portions, and everything is prepped and cooked to order. Located in the downtown Saluda strip in a historic building with a cute park across the tracks! We will most definitely be back next time we're out this way ❤️

My husband is very fussy when it comes to his food and out of everywhere we've ever been for breakfast, Josh at Ward's makes HANDS DOWN THE BEST omelette around!!!
We usually go to their Saturday Southern Breakfast Buffet, but occasionally we'll also go during the week for their "regular menu" breakfast.
It's seriously worth going twice in a week!!! 👍🏼👍🏼❤️

Came in for lunch on Aug 28 for lunch. It wasn’t crowded but just the old fashioned look of the place drew me in. Our waitress was Aldrey and she was wonderful. The menus was on the table, drinks came out fast and we watched them cook our food from our table. Men behind counter was friendly and even sang along with a few songs. The food was amazing and huge portions. Husbands cheeseburger was one of the best he had in a long time. Staying through the weekend and we will be back.
