Went in early around 3pm. Nice place for a meal and drink. Had the sampler platter (pulled pork, 2 pork ribs & leg quarter) w/ tea and Red Oak Lager.

This place has gone down over the years. It used to have good food. Now its hit or miss. The service is subpar and bar manager are rude. Our last visit solidified the decision to never go back to this establishment and we won't be missing much. Too bad Sanford dosnt have a good bar to go to where you can get food after events alongside a good drink.

Update: GO TO Brannan Schlitz BBQ instead for brisket(inclued a picture).....It's called Smoke to and Barrel but I didn't taste any smoke in my brisket. Not even a smoke ring on the meat. The server or the bartender was very helpful and friendly. The food was served in a very reasonable time under 10 minutes. The first thing I noticed was no mac and cheese and the other one was no cornbread. So I should have been prepared for more disappointment, but the photos on the reviews looked very enticing. Unfortunately, I got the short end of the stick. Brisket seemed like it was overcooked. It tasted like pot roast. I specifically asked for the point side but was served. The flat side which I know is not as tender, but I think this establishment prepares their their point side for sandwiches like most traditional barbecue places do and they reserve the flat side for the patrons which most barbecue places do. I was just hoping that they had some slices of the flat left before I ordered. Our bartender did try to make things right by letting the kitchen know the situation, but they just came out with more slices of flat brisket and not really what I wanted. Brisket was tough as a sirloin...Unfortunately I could not eat it because I was not in the mood for steak. I wanted brisket.

Great atmosphere and awesome staff. Usually really good food… Got some ribs the other day that you couldn’t cut with a knife. Didn’t taste bad but definitely not “fall off the bone”. Other than that exception, always a great experience!

Good food, many beers on tap( a lot are local), full bar, good service. Small downtown establishment...gets cramped during peak hours. Highly recommend!

Not impressed. You can’t get in without going through the cloud of tobacco smoke from the diners out front. I had brisket and it was chewy and cut from the part of the brisket that most folks cut up to make burnt ends. Smashed potato was amateurish. I asked for BBQ sauce and was informed that it was on the table. Looked like ketchup. I tasted it and I tasted something closer to ketchup than BBQ sauce. My companions were satisfied with their sandwiches, a Reuben, and a Cuban. Our server was great. Her second day on the job. Not likely to go back.
