We walked in to find an empty restaurant on fathers day and no hostess at the hostess stand. She only asked how many of us there were and then proceeded to start walking towards an empty table without acknowledging that we were supposed to follow her. There was no manager on duty, and the waitress was only nice until we pointed out something she forgot. I got steak as my order put down, but instead recieved chicken. I ordered white rice and got fried rice. I ordered extra mushrooms with no carrots and got extra carrots with some mushrooms. The bathrooms? Old. The cook? Inactive. Empty restaurant yet got my order 30 minutes after ordering. No sushi even though its on the online menu. The sushi man has been gone for 3 ENTIRE MONTHS before our visit and there is NO sign of him, therefore sushi is completely unavailable. Chicken was bland with little to no flavor as well as cold. The only good thing was the soup. The rice was crunchy.

Wish I could give this zero stars not only is the food awful now the service was terrible. The soup was like straight olive oil with gray specs that look like dust floating in it. We had to ask for rice and sauce. The sauce tasted like mayo and the rice smelt like dog food. The worst part is the shrimp they served my son was rotten. After I paid I wanted to let the waitress know about the shrimp so that way they are aware and it doesn't make everyone sick. It had a strong oder and it made my tounge numb and tasted of rotten fish and strong chemicals. When I told her that I wanted to let them something was wrong with the shrimp she instantly cut me off and said no no it's not they just got their shipment yesterday so it not. I said I don't care about the bill I just wanted to to let you know so everyone doesn't get sick she proceeded to argue with me. It wasn't until the other tables started looking our way that she came over agressively and snatched the plate to say she needed to take it to the cook. They never apologized or showed any concern instead they threw the food out and ignored it.

This place used to be great! I went there last night and it was awful. I felt I would have better gone to Luli Sushi!! Yamato is out of sushi, no salad, no salmon. The waitress was nice, but the restaurant looks beat up and half things on the menu were missing. Will never go back again!!!

The waitress was amazing but the cooking staff was garbage today. I've been coming here for years and never waited more than 15 mins for food. But today the chef lost my order and was too busy playing on his phone while cooking to do a good job. I'm surprised they allow him to be on it as much as he was

Place has a bad sewer problem which cause a horrible smell though out the restaurant and their health score is low as all grt out!!!! Its sad they use to be on top of their game now when you deal with them either on the phone or in person they really don't seem to care and it reaaly shows now they won't be open much longer for sure I won't be back I'm done and I was a big fan.

Only had a B in the sanitation rating!! Server didn't even know the menue and asked us what it was. She was super confused and forgot several thing and we had to keep on reminding her. Very exhausting! Steak was borderline burned! The only thing that was good was the fried ice cream! However, we will never go back!

Went to Yamatoes after church a couple Sunday's ago and was very disappointed. I have been going to this place since it opened up. When it first opened up this place was wonderful, we would go at least 2 times a week. Slowly it has started going down hill. As soon as you come in you smell the bathrooms, my last visit the steak came whole and not cut up. I don't understand if they can cut the chicken up why not the steak. Makes no sense. I was just not happy with the kitchen staff and the atmosphere so I will be going to Sarkus from now on. Such a shame too. It is sad they use to be the bomb.

This was my worst visit ever. Came in and was seated. Order two steak and chicken hibachi with zucchini and onions. We asked for no rice and double veggies. Waited for a while and the waitress never told us that soup and salad was no longer apart of the combination plates. Very unsatisfied that we spent $15 a plate. We could have gladly left and went to Sarkus and been much more satisfied. The food was good. The service not so much. It took the waitress 10-15 minutes to take our card for the bill and it was not busy. Another table complained and got soup and salad. As a person with experience in food business, tell people you have changed things or update your menu. It's false advertisement. We won't be back here even though we have been coming for years. Sanford has better to offer.

NOT authentic Japanese, greasy and sauce-laden. Smells like raw sewage. A slow decline in quality, busyness and value as others have said. Dirty, run down and gummy in that way old, greasy restaurants are.
