My blackened Alaskan fish was cold, my daughter's fish and chips was cold as well. I don't know if the person who took our order forgot about us but we didn't see her again another kind waitress took care of us but when our food was brought out it was cold as if it had been sitting for a while.

I used to greatly enjoy coming here before I went off for college, so I figured I’d bring my boyfriend here. It was what I’d call “drink packed” as most of the customers were drinking and not ordering food. It took a while for anyone to take our drink/app order and dinner order. We ordered onion rings, which were oddly sweet and greasy. Once we finished our appetizer, our plates, empty basket and empty drinks sat on the table for a little over 10 minutes despite wait-staff passing multiple times. I ordered the wing entree and my boyfriend ordered 6 wings and a side of fries. The wings were the only good part of the meal. They were crispy and hot and the fries were okay. When we were given our food, I asked for extra napkins which we never got. When we finished eating, my boyfriend asked for a small box…which we never got until we had to ask another waitress. The waitstaff were constantly hovering around all the tables except ours. I don’t know if we were treated differently as we were the youngest table seated or weren’t drinking alcohol or what, but neither are good excuses for such poor service. I don’t think I’ll be going back for a while.

Take out experience with Lakehouse was subpar last night. Placed an order and picked it up roughly 25 minutes later. Upon picking up we were told that they didn’t have any salsa to put on the nachos. So the nachos amounted to a pile of pulled pork on top of tortilla chips with a few little cups of sour cream and thick pasty queso cheese. The Rachel sandwich did not have any thousand island on it, which is the essence of a Reuben/Rachel sandwich, so it was just a turkey sandwich with sauerkraut. The southern chicken BLT did not have any bacon. This was 3 of the 4 dishes we ordered. We had a mediocre experience last fall and waited hoping they would get on track, but it seems that this is the standard at the Lakehouse. It’s unfortunate because we need good food locally.

This place is well lit which is different from most taverns I go to. The staff is nice and at least one of the owners is a great guy. I'll let you figure it out for yourself. Beware.
