Being from NY, I had high expectations for this deli. I ordered ham and cheese, lettuce and tomato on a Kaiser roll. The photo shows the pathetic sandwich I got. I could get a better sandwich at a gas station. And it was almost $8.00?Staff was friendly, but the product needs to be better. Won’t be going back sadly. It would have been nice to have a great local NY deli close by. Oh well…

great food and Sandwiches. My only complaint is the sandwiches are somewhat light on cheese and meat for the price point. Thicker Sandwiches at Harris Teeters. Although the bread is better at Gothams.

You must take a detour off I95 if you’re in North Carolina to grab amazing sandwiches at Gotham’s Deli. This New Yorker loved the scrumptious Gotham turkey and mushroom sandwich and tasted the equally yummy Reuben. The service is so friendly and the walls are covered with awesome NYC sports and iconic memorabilia. A winning combo!

Check This Place Out!!!!!! *sounds the trumpet* NY overload!! Haha, Love it!! This sandwich shop will bring a smile to your face. I don't know where they get, or if they make, the Rye bread but MANNNNN was it good; not dense and/or dry. The sandwiches are on point!! Great ratios of meat, cheese, toppings, and condiments. The selections of sandwiches are big as well, from Ham, Turkey, Veggie, Chicken, Roast Beef, Signature, Italian, Hot Dogs, annnnnnd Box lunches!!!!! Oh, they have a jar of huge pickles, too!!!! Today, we ordered the Dark Knight and Dr. K, which you can get with Chips and a drink. Both sandwiches were gone in a matter of minutes. Gotham Deli sits downtown Smithfield, with available street parking. Inside is long and narrowish with booth seating. They have a fountain drink station with the best Dr. Pepper to carbonation ratio, at least they did today!!! Oh my goodness, those 23 flavors were rich.

Amazing deli located literally downtown Smithfield. You walk in and it's very much a New York delicatessen vibe. I placed an order over the phone and let them know when I arrived, and it was just about 10-15 minutes until I received my food. My party ordered a tuna melt, brass knuckles, Mr met, and the Hudson. The total was just shy of $57 for the 4 full whole sandwiches. I ended up receiving a tuna sub instead of the melt, but it was still delicious. Everything was flavorful, filling, and huge! I would love to come back again soon!

Run don't walk! The food is amazing!! Got the King City and it was bomb!! Super fresh ingredients with great flavor. Plus the staff is super friendly and helpful! Can't recommend enough! Only wish we would've tried this place when we moved here 3 years ago! But we'll be back regularly! Support local.

This place is just the best. Everytime I order and I think I have some sort of critique, that fades away as soon as I take my first bite. For this style of sub, you simply won't find better around. There is something special about how this Deli does a sandwich, and that red potato salad is just perfection.Prices and portions are fantastic, and the family that runs the place is always so nice even when it's a crazy busy day. These guys serve their community and I love to support that.
