I've visited twice at lunch time during the week with my kid. Service is usually pretty quick and food was good.

The beef is always to oily, so I always order my things separate. This is literally the fourth time I have ordered the exact same thing- Appetizer beef nacho with everything separate. Keep in mind that’s only 3 things (beef, nachos, cheese)…however twice the cheese has been missing. Once (I’m not sure if they were trying to be funny), but I received super burnt/dry meat. My kids at school wouldn’t even eat it. And today, I’m missing yet another cheese dip. The front manager (lady at the counter), has always been super friendly, and respectful, but this will be my last time going there, unless I plan to sit in and eat. I do not like the continuous stares as if I’m the problem. When I’m just asking for my food to be separated and correct! I’ve been eating here since I was a child so I would never knock their business. Just check your to-go orders carefully!!

Having never eaten there before, we were so pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious! The service was attentive and fast. The Christmas decorations were so festive and fun. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. Can’t wait to eat there again

If you’re reading this, find another restaurant.

Staff (including but not limited to, Nicole) are extremely rude and inattentive. We couldn’t even get a napkin out of Nicole. It took over 45 minutes to receive our food on a Monday afternoon (which wasn’t even that good. The shrimp was so dry). We were okay with the unexpected, long wait but had not expected for the service to be so bad — the waitress rolled her eyes at us multiple times, left in the middle of us asking where our missing items were to serve other customers (that did not look like us…), NEVER checked on us. Despite the lack of service and long wait, the manager, Martha (Leah?), was not accommodating-we asked how much would be taken off and she said it depended on what the computer said…only $2 was taken off of the bill.

It was an extremely negative experience for our first time at this restaurant. It was a slap in the face to see the waitress check on other tables but not ours even when she knew we were missing items. We will not be returning, and do not recommend this establishment.

10 out of 10! We at Johnston Animal Hospital absolutely LOVE ordering from La Cocina of Smithfield for our team. Martha and her team are phenomenal! The food is always excellent, arriving fresh, warm, and absolutely delicious.

Major disappointment when you order wings or fries and they bring ranch in the packet (salad dressing ranch) everyone knows there is a big difference in salad dressing ranch and ranch for dipping. This is the only location I know of that does this - like they are trying to be cheap and not have to keep 2 kinds of ranch on hand. Food is okay, on the salty side. Not as good as other la cocina locations like Clayton. Service is good & quick. Atmosphere is kind of outdated and could use a makeover.

I’ve ate there many times and I prefer the shredded chicken but now I am told you have to get veg with shredded chicken if no veg it’s cubes of chicken. Who wants cubes on nachos? I explained they are always accompanied me I guess and she let me know that in 8 years that has not been the case. Not so…… always have in the past but I will not go back.

We really enjoy this location. We regularly eat at La Cocina in Clayton and Garner but this one is different. Their food is consistently delicious and we bring some home even when we get the lunch size.
You should give them a try, you won't be disappointed.
