We looked forward to visiting Low and Slow. However, they had a special event today and we were unable to visit when we got there.

I was really hoping this place would be better than the other reviews I’d read. Sadly, it wasn’t. The atmosphere was amazing, and the young lady who served us was great. But the food was a letdown. We wanted to order burnt ends as an appetizer, but they were all gone, so we got fried pickles that tasted like the batter wasn’t fresh or the grease was dirty. We quickly sent them back after a few bites. We ended up ordering two brisket sandwiches—one with hush puppies and the other with fries. Both the fries and hush puppies were fresh, but the brisket was hard and dry unless it was smothered in BBQ sauce. It was a shame because I was hoping to make this a regular spot, especially in the spring and summer. But the food reviews are spot on. The atmosphere was a 10/10, though.

After seeing a ton of rave reviews online, we made the drive to Low & Slow Smokehouse in Smithfield, NC. The town is worth the trip on its own — cute shops, nice scenery — but we were there for the barbecue.
We rolled in with a group of six and ordered a spread to share:
• Apps: queso, fried pickles, pork belly burnt ends, cheese fries (kids favorite)
• Mains:
ribeye 3.5,
brisket 1,
smoked sausage 1,
barbecue 3,
chicken 2

• Sides: mac & cheese 2 , mashed potatoes 4
• Dessert: banana pudding 3

Atmosphere is awesome upstairs, staff was super friendly, and prices are fair.
Food-wise… the meats were the weak link: dry brisket, ok chicken, bland sausage, and the ribeye wasn’t anything special. The fried pickles were good but crazy salty.
The sides, though — mac & cheese and mashed potatoes — were honestly the best part of the meal.
Overall we’d give the food 3 stars. Great place to hang out and drink, but if you’re coming just for top-tier barbecue, temper your expectations. The sides and vibe are the real winners here.”

This was my first time at Low and Smoke but I will be back. I was surprised to see that they had a buffet as I was ready to grab a quick sandwich but the salad bar drew me in. The atmosphere was great and the drinks can quickly and were quite tasty.

The salad bar was fresh and had a great selection of veggies. The food on the bar was good as well. I noticed that the cornbread was tasty but must have been sitting for a while. I'm not sure why most of the patrons weren't at the bar grabbing more bbq but I sure did enjoy it.

My server, Daphne was amazing and took very good care of me. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant and accommodating.

The overall experience was great but I will have to visit in the daytime because I hear the views are amazing.

My hubby and I went to Slow and Low for the first time today and the food was amazing! Daphne was an absolutely fantastic server! She suggested that I get the cheeseburger and it was sooo delicious! I’m not usually the biggest burger fan when I get barbecue but her suggestion was spot on! Hubby got the all you can eat buffet and he had no complaints and he’s very picky about his barbecue! We will definitely be back! My only suggestion is that they put a street sign near the road because we almost drove right past the restaurant and missed the entrance and had to turn in at the airport entrance.

Ordered the Brisket loaded baked potato. Received what looked like pulled pork on the potato. Asked server to get brisket. They took it to the kitchen and brought it promptly back out stating it was indeed brisket, confirmed by the chef.

Aside from it tasting like pork, looking like pork, and smelling like pork, it was pulled like pork and not sliced or even chopped; as every brisket I’ve ever had has been.

I just don’t like being blatantly lied to; especially for a $16 baked potato. Potato was baked well, but overall meh.
