I got takeout on 8/5/25. The service was very good! The food was very good and fresh!! I got the Quesabirria, it was soooo good!!! I couldn’t save any for later, I ended up eating my whole plate.😄
My only suggestion is that they give more salsa with the chips. Other than that, all was goood!! I’ll definitely be back!🙌🏾

Prices are outrageous, especially for what u got. I had to search for the waitress just not somewhere I would go back to. 3 Street tacos rice and beans and 2 margaritas was $62

I love this place so much. We have gone to the one in Clayton before, this one in Smithfield is equally as good with even better outdoor seating. That’s a huge agave plant! Best queso birria ever. Great drinks. Everything is fresh and home made and they don’t skimp on ingredients at all. It tastes like it was made with love. The El Patron restaurants here locally are a most favorite, in our top 5 places to go on a regular basis. Oh yeah, and I got a piece of tres leches cake to go! I’ll come back with a pic and to share my thoughts on it….
It’s pretty good! I would try their other desserts next time to find that perfect one they make that’s just beyond excellent.

i AND MY DAUGHTER FROM ANOTHER MOTHER DECIDED TO EAT HERE ON THURSDAY. WE ORDERED OUR FOOD. FIRST, THEY DID NOT GET MY ORDER CORECTLY. BUT I ATE IT ANYWAY. SECOND MY DAUHTERS ORDER WAS NASTY WITH A VERY FISHY WOILD TASTE, AS SHE TOOK MAYBE HER 3RD BITE SHE REALIZED THAT IT HAD OCTOPUS IN IT. THE MENU IS IN SPANISH AND YES WE BOTH READ IT. IT SAID MIXED SEAFOOD, WE DID NOT THINK TO ASK WHAT KIND OF SEAFOOD WOULD BE IN IT BUT USUALLY MIXED SEAFOOD CONSIST OF SHRIMP FISH SCAMPY MAYBE CRAB, BUT WE NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD HAVE OCTOPUS. SO, WE CALLED THE WAITRESS OVER, EXPLAINED TO HER THE PROBLEM, SHE THEN TOLD HER MANAGER, THIS IS WHERE IT GETS BAD. THE MANAGER WAS SO RUDE & NASTY TO US. SHE JUST SAID IT SAYS MIXED SEAFOOD. ITS NOT MY FAULT YOU DIDNT UNDERSTAND. SHE REFUSED TO REMOVE THE ORDER FROM HER TICKET. SHE REFUSED TO GIVE ME THE OWNERS NUMBER SHE WALKED AWAY FROM ME WHILE I WAS SPEAKING AND WENT TO THE BACK.
THE ABSOLUTE WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER.
SHE TOOK IT TO A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL OF RUDENESS & DISRESPECT.... THE WORSE PART IS SHE SAID SHE WAS THE MANAGER, FROM MY EXPERIENCE, A MANAGER KNOWS HOW TO DEAL WITH UNSATISFIED CUSTOMERS AND MAKE THINGS RIGGHT. SHE GOT MAD AT US AND BECAME VERY NASTY....

An unforgettable Mexican experience at Patron Smithfield!

What an amazing find! Patron Smithfield delivers an authentically Mexican experience that exceeds all expectations. From the moment you walk in, the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere transports you straight to Mexico.

The food is absolutely outstanding. We tried molcajete.
The portions are generous, and the presentation is beautiful.

The drinks are on another level. Their margarita selection is fantastic fresh, well-balanced, and served with a special twist. They also offer a great variety of premium mezcals and tequilas that perfectly complement the meal.

And the service? Exceptional. Attentive, fast, and always with a smile. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and makes you feel right at home from start to finish.

Without a doubt, Patron Smithfield is a place we’ll be coming back to again and again. Delicious food, amazing drinks, and top-notch service. A well-deserved five stars!

The Best Mexican Drinks in Smithfield

If you’re looking for a place to enjoy authentic Mexican drinks, El Patrón in Smithfield is the perfect spot. Their bar offers an amazing variety of cocktails made with fresh ingredients and bold, authentic flavors. The margaritas are simply outstanding—perfectly balanced, made with quality tequila, and beautifully presented. We tried the tamarind margarita and the mango with chili—an explosion of flavor!

They also serve micheladas, palomas, and a great selection of Mexican beers that pair perfectly with any dish. The atmosphere is vibrant yet cozy, ideal for a fun afternoon with friends or celebrating a special occasion.

The service was excellent. The staff is knowledgeable about the drink menu and happy to offer personalized recommendations. It’s clear that El Patrón puts just as much care into their drinks as they do their food.

A perfect place to relax, unwind, and enjoy the best of Mexico in every sip. ¡Salud!

I eat at this restaurant very frequently and tonight I stopped and wanted to try a different choice of food, I ordered the Pina rellano on the menu it states that it’s a pineapple stuffed with mixed seafood it never stated it had octopus. They refused to remake it or exchange the meal for something else and I was also charged full price for the order that was barely touched and left in the restaurant. It had a very distinct wild fish taste that was over bearing and took over the entire meal. The server also stated that she was the owner. They will be losing a very faithful customer

The best birria I’ve had in all of NC… period! Staff was really cool. Crazy to me that this place wasn’t more busy at dinner. More comfortable Mexican restaurant than other local spots.
