Henning’s Taste of India is a true hidden gem in Moore County. The food is absolutely amazing—my girlfriend ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, and I went with the Goat Vindaloo. Both dishes were rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care, and they came out surprisingly fast.

What makes this spot stand out is the atmosphere. It’s not in a high-traffic area, so it never feels crowded or hectic. Most of the business seems to be takeout, which makes dining in feel more intimate and peaceful—perfect for actually enjoying your meal and conversation without the usual restaurant noise.

If you’re looking for authentic Indian food, generous portions, and a comfortable, low-key vibe, Henning’s Taste of India is definitely worth a visit.

Amazing food but difficult to find carb friendly (low sugar) options. The various televisions offer interesting entertainment.

Ordered from here on uber eats and it’s my favorite Indian restaurant in NC so far! The tikka masala sauce is thick and creamy and the chicken is tender. Way better than the restaurants that use chunky, runny sauce and shredded pieces of chicken.

We hadn’t had Indian food in a veeeery long time and this was SO much better than any other I’ve had. The Chicken Tikka Masala was so creamy, rich, and still so beautifully seasoned. The Lamb Rogan Josh (which I had never had before) was phenomenal, you could really taste a wonderful balance of onion, lamb, and ginger. That lamb was so tender! (And the Naan bread, oh yes, very good)

We did take out, and the service was lovely. Very kind and courteous man on the phone . If the rest of the service is like that, I’d gladly dine in next time.

I can’t recommend Henning’s enough! The fried honey cauliflower is absolutely incredible—crispy, sticky, sweet, and paired with a spicy sauce so good I could drink it. The mango chicken and butter chicken are just as amazing, this the best Indian food I’ve ever had. I also love the variety of naan on the menu. This time, we had the onion naan, but every flavor is delicious. The staff is always super friendly, and every time my family visits, we make sure to stop by. If you haven’t been, you’re seriously missing out!
